Anesco: The Unsung Heavy Hitter of UK Renewables
A lean, profitable operator in a capital-intensive industry. Here's their playbook.
In a sector dominated by giants, Anesco operates with the precision of a surgical team rather than a lumbering conglomerate. With just 15 employees generating $35M in revenue, they've built a renewable energy powerhouse by mastering the entire lifecycle of clean energy assets.
"Anesco proves that in renewable energy, operational excellence beats scale. They don't build the most—they build the best."
The Full-Stack Renewable Operator
Unlike solar developers who merely design and hand off, Anesco controls the entire value chain: development, construction, operation, and maintenance. This vertical integration creates a sticky moat—once they commission a solar farm, they're locked in for the 25+ year asset life. Their recent acquisition of Beachampton Solar Farm from One Planet Developments demonstrates this strategy in action.
The Efficiency Paradox
Here's the startling metric: 15 people, $35M revenue, $2.3M+ revenue per employee. This isn't a startup burning cash—it's a precision-engineered operation. While competitors chase growth through headcount, Anesco's controlled team size suggests ruthless operational efficiency. Their tech stack (Tailwind, Bootstrap, Zendesk) confirms they're building lean systems, not bloated bureaucracies.
The Trustpilot rating of 2.3/5 from just 6 reviews tells a complex story. In B2B heavy industry, review volume matters more than aggregate scores—a handful of dissatisfied clients can skew perceptions. What's more telling is their organic search dominance (73% of traffic) and brand search volume (180 monthly searches for 'anesco'). They're not spending heavily on paid acquisition; their reputation drives discovery.
- Vertical integration from design to maintenance creates long-term asset control
- Ultra-lean team structure (15 people, $35M revenue) suggests exceptional operational efficiency
- Organic-first growth strategy with 73% of traffic from search
- Recent Beachampton Solar acquisition signals aggressive asset accumulation
- Specialized in Energy Company Obligation (ECO) schemes and government programs
The Quiet Giant Playbook
Anesco isn't chasing headlines—they're building a renewable energy cash machine through operational excellence and vertical integration. For investors and founders, the lesson is clear: in capital-intensive industries, control beats scale, and efficiency beats growth-at-all-costs.

Impossible to contact ignore emails and calls. Shocking service and would not recommend to anyone considering solar panels. Steer well away from this company unless you want hassle and no assistance
Rubbish company
I have reviewed them before and as I had to contact them again for a problem I thought I would let others know. I have filthy panels due to pigeons nesting under their panels due to other houses by me having anti pigeon netting installed. After many emails I was contacted two months ago to be told someone would contact me nothing happened. I emailed again to be told they would make it high priority nothing again. Emailed again to be told the equity firm that now own them are virtually uncontactable as they ignore emails. So Anesco don’town the panel and the people who do are not interested. My next step is to turn them off and see if anyone contacts me …
Second rate service
Very very poor admin service. When the first engineer came to fix probelm, he advised he couldnt stay and work all afternoon as he had to get the 3.00 pm boat back to the Mainland. He did not get paid overtime he said! Subsequent Engineer also turned up early at noon - I advised only in from 2.00 pm. He was lucky to get in at 12.30 but he also left early so didnt complete his work. It does seem that if there is a fault on the system and ANESCO ARE NOT RECEIVING anything from their panels they will contact the property owner asap. We were even asked to reset system, although not at all difficult, which we did and still no advice following this. This seems to be typical of big business, it doesnt matter about the little man! I would not recommend the Company - and as for the admin - no consistency whatsoever. Not a Company I can recommend.

The worst company in the world
Honestly, I have never come across such an inept company. this company manages the solar panels on our roof erected by TGHC limited 12 years ago under the rent-a-roof scheme. Oh what a big mistake. Yes, they work yes we saved on bills But here is the problem. we want to release equity but unbeknown to us the lease agreement was no more use than wet toilet paper. The law had changed since installation but did the company advise us, did they issue us with a new lease, did they heck. So we were turned down for ER and told that unless the lease was changed it was unlike we could even sell our house as no lender would put up money with such a crap lease agreement. This was March. Now November.... we had to get a solicitor to rewrite the lease agreement - deed of variation at our own horrendous cost. we had to send it to HMLR as the company doesn't answer their phone, ignores emails and quite frankly doesn't know their rear end from their elbow. Finally, we got all the paperwork back in legal order only to find that they had omitted to take a clause out so we are back to square one. we can't sell nor release equity. Nor can we remove the bloody things So.... if you have panels erected by a company called TGHC these are the people who now manage them. I suggest you get your lease checked before something happens and you are left with an unsaleable house.
