Passenger Assistance service is…
Passenger Assistance service is unreliable. on the most recent occasion, one assistant was sent to deal with two wheelchair passengers, both with just-adequate transfer times for onward connecting flights. The poor girl had to push two wheelchairs simultaneously, with obvious difficulty. At security control for onward transit flights there was a huge crowd of stressed-out passengers and only one security pathway in operation. Staff obviously stressed and working at frenetic pace After going through security on foot, the assistant was nowhere to be seen. I think she might have had to go off somewhere with the other wheelchair passenger. I tried but could not manage to walk the long way to my departure gate, which was by now showing that boarding was taking place. A shopkeeper, seeing that I was in some distress, helped me by phoning Avinor and the assistant showed up shortly after - she looked extremely stressed. The poor girl had to run, pushing me in the wheelchair, a considerable distance to the departure gate, which was at the point of closing. So, we made it this time. But I have to use PA at Gardermoen a few times every year, and it is often the case that assistants do not arrive, or arrive late, or that there is some confusion about the logistics plan. This now gives me anxiety about having to transit through Gardermoen vis Passenger Assistance. I will emphasise that the Assistants themselves are always very helpful and do their best. Unfortunately, their logistics operating system, despatchers or managers do not seem to be of the same calibre.
BA check in delays and chaotic setup
Turned up early to check in for our BA flight from Oslo to London (BA771) so expected a short wait. A queue quickly built up and ground staff moved boxes from counter to counter as though check in was something new. A supervisor seemed to confuse things. Check in finally opened less than 1.75hours before take off. The counters didn't line up with the queues so there was confusion as top who was next in line. Fortunately, we were early in the queue but were treated rudely by staff, suggesting we were at the wrong counter even though it was directly in front of us. The sign on the screen did not accord with the statement given. Another passenger said he had to queue for 1.25 hours, so in one way we were lucky. This needed only be a bag drop in minutes and ruined what should have been a straightforward process.
NO SERVICE at AVINOR SERVICE Center
I went through Oslo airport on the 24th September and during security screening checkpoint my carry on bag was diverted to the rear conveyor belt. Security officers asked if they could open the bag and I allowed them to do so. This was done outside my viewpoint. At every other airport the bag is brought forward and opened in front of me. He then put the bag back through the screening machine and then said I was free to go. Unbeknown to me he removed my camera and electric toothbrush flosser and he didn't tell me or put the items back. I didcuthem.missing on my arrival in Melbourne. I contacted Avinor service center and they were of no assistance at all, refusing to take any accountability or offer any assistance at all. I hit road black after road block. They have no interest in customer care or service and despite putting an official complaint they put the blame on me and have refused to take any resposibility. I have had to pay $400 to get my camera back. The dental appliances are still missing.
Complete lack of communication
Complete lack of communication, just didn’t show up at the meeting point to collect baggage. No idea if they will or won’t show up in the next hour or 3! No number to call to find out what is happening and the only number available for contacting did not have a number or any idea of who to contact to get help
Trondheim airport avinor never seen before a sealed duty free bag
At the Trondheim airport, I experienced an unexpected stopover. For some very odd reason, I had to undergo security clearance again and retrieve my checked-in bag, even though my final destination was clearly indicated on the ticket as well as the luggage. This inconvenience alone should be reason enough to avoid this place entirely. During this process, I encountered another issue. As I went through security, the Avinor staff began scrutinizing a sealed duty free bag with bottle of wine I had purchased at the Copenhagen duty-free shop. Four, and I emphasize, four of these officials or whatever they are stared and examined it at it as if it was a bar of plutonium, seemingly bewildered by its presence, I was like did you never see one of these bags again from another duty free? I pointed out that I was at risk of missing my flight, but it was to no avail. The ordeal continued, leaving me no choice but to abandon my cherished bottle of wine. I reached out to Avinor regarding this incident but never received a response. Their level of incompetence is unbecoming of European standards. I advise avoiding this airport, and personally, I vow never to set foot there again.
