It's getting better, all data in one place has advantages
It's getting better, but "clickertrend" is the nickname for a reason. Major strides over the last year+ since Bain Capital investment. Pricing is rising just as fast though. If I were doing it again, or if the bottom continues to fall out of the housing market, I would stick to a series of solutions stitched together with open APIs, automations and workflows that allow data to flow easily without becoming too dependent on any one application. Customer support is excellent and really helpful, as are the account reps. In this case, you get what you pay for and you are paying for human, personal attention. I bet I will give it 5/5 stars in 1 year, or we'll be out of business by then.
Unhappy user of Buildertrend
Hard to use from the start. Not able to log in easily, e.g sometimes it would state the site is down when someone else can log in on a different device. The app only allows one user per family. Dififcult to navigate to any links or access to any financial options or uploading invoices. Print was option overlapped when tryng to read updates from company. Kuda was unable to help in navagating to options including communcation options, uploading invoices and requesting information. I would have used a different company had I known I would have to use this app to get this job competed with this company. It is almost impossible for those who are not tech savvy to navigate. The company should have an alternate option for those who are not tech savvy, or dont want to use apps to communicate, see updates, receive information, see schedules for when workers will be onsite and many other functions. I would never recommend Buildertrend to anyone, I would say use a company you can deal with directly and send invoices to directly. I would give it -0 stars if it would allow.
Misleading Promises, Poor Support, and Unjust Refund Policy – A $300 Mistake
I lost $300 that I didn’t need to. Their support team is not well-informed and makes us waste our time and money. First, we do not have access to the platform until you pay $300 for the trial. Before that, they offer you an introductory call of 30 minutes to explain how the program works. In a very limited time, I was informed that Buildertrend could do everything that Jobber does and more. So, I signed up right away. When exploring the platform, I noticed a lot of features that weren’t there. I contacted their support team to check if I just didn’t know how to configure the platform correctly. After being in touch with them, I realized that no, Buildertrend does not offer everything that Jobber offers. They charge you a LOT more. For example, Buildertrend does not link the line of service from your proposal to your job schedule and calendar, and later on to the invoice. It is very hard to locate what came from what since you need to create your "to-do list" on the calendar manually and it has no connection with the proposal terms. There is no TAX calculation on the proposal. If you want to add tax, you need to create a separate line of service and calculate the tax on the applicable items yourself (leaving a margin for error). It doesn’t show recommended addresses when you start typing; you need to fill all the boxes for the address yourself (another margin for error). To access reports, you need to upgrade to the Advanced plan (even though I was told on the introductory call that everything we talked about was available on the Essential plan). When we send an email, the name shows as (company@buildertrend) instead of just the company name. In my opinion, it is not clean to the eyes. It’s not a big deal, but Jobber offers this feature. I was only on the platform for 3 days before I saw it didn’t work. I reached out to the team to talk about a refund, even if it was partial, and they denied it. Considering that I was misled by their team and was only on the platform for 3 days, I was expecting more understanding and consideration. But apparently, the company is only interested in their profit and sales. So, I felt very misled by the Buildertrend team that sold me the service. I wouldn’t have spent $300 if I hadn’t received misleading information from them. Disappointed and never using it again.
