Overall great and professional crew

Hello . This was my first flight with Eurowings and despite a long delay on arrival I would happily book future flights with the airline. Snowy weather fell upon Düsseldorf and we had to circle waiting for runway to be cleared. The pilots informed us of the situation in timely manner. We then landed in Cologne to refuel and awaiting improved condition on Düsseldorf. And one hour later we made it to ou final destination. If I had a critic I could say that they could have offered us a coffee or snack !

They have people that answer the phones!

I had to ring twice, once to update a DOB I input wrong. The second to arrange an earlier flight. Both times I rang I got through in maybe 1 minute. I spoke to a person who was very helpful and sorted my query instantly. I was so surprised I could talk to an airline over the phone and an airline who actually helped. I would recommend Eurowings for this reason.

Chaotic check-in, missed flight not our fault, only resolved through mediation

Very disappointing experience with Eurowings. Despite arriving early at Düsseldorf Airport, the check-in was absolute chaos: too few counters, unclear procedures, and passengers for other flights were prioritized. We were only allowed to check in our luggage about 20 minutes before departure – the flight left without us. Eurowings confirmed that more than 50 passengers were affected. The handling afterwards was especially frustrating: there was no help at the Eurowings counter or over the phone. We had a same-day connecting flight and wanted to continue our journey, so we had to arrange replacement flights ourselves. Our complaints by email and post went unanswered for weeks, even though other affected passengers had already received replies. Multiple calls to customer service were pointless – we were repeatedly told to “wait until next week.” Only after involving the mediation office (SÖP) did the case move forward. Within about 10 days, at least the costs for the expensive replacement flights were reimbursed. Without this step, we likely would still have had no response. It all took 4 months. This is not how customer service should work. Unfortunately, our trust in Eurowings has been seriously damaged. We do not plan to use this airline again, as the experience was extremely frustrating and we felt completely ignored as customers.

I had a very disappointing experience with Eurowings regarding a missed flight and a refund request. I booked a Zurich–Berlin flight through an agency and paid an extra €30 for additional cabin baggage. Due to a long delay on my incoming flight with another airline, I never even reached Zurich airport and therefore did not board the Eurowings flight. The extra cabin baggage service was never used at all. Despite this, Eurowings refused to refund the €30 baggage fee, even though the service was never provided. They also charged me an additional €20 “no‑show” fee simply because I had checked in online but could not appear at the airport due to the missed connection. When I checked their publicly available terms and FAQs, this specific €20 no‑show fee is not clearly listed or explained anywhere, which raises serious transparency concerns. ​ Customer service was unhelpful and insisted the charges were correct without giving a clear contractual basis or showing any flexibility, even though the situation was caused by disruptions outside my control. This kind of rigid and non‑transparent handling of fees does not inspire trust, and I will think very carefully before booking Eurowings again.
