Freenom was reliable and free until…
Freenom was reliable and free until criminals won't stop abusing it. They were sued and lost $500m to meta. I used to have about 5 domains which I use for deploying my free apps and web apps. It was cool until the lawsuit. Damn these thieves and cyber armed criminals still come here to give freenom the bad review. You all caused the damage they experienced and they took the fall. My question is to Freenom does it worth it? Why not use a strong kyc to onboard users from the beginning so you can report these scammers directly without taking the fall. Anyway RIP to Freenom it was cool with you guys.

Super unreliable and shady.
I've had a pretty bad experience with Freenom a few years ago when they offered their free domains. The only reason I would use Freenom is because of their free domain service. However, it looks like they've discontinued the program because their website greets you to an error whenever you try to register a free domain. However, the website is very slow, and it looks very shady. They ask for a lot of information, and even log your IP address for "legal purposes". Overall, I wouldn't recommend Freenom anymore since they no longer offer free domains, but it was good while it lasted.
Slow & Untrustworthy
Freenom is okay for basic, temporary websites. Anything beyond that is better suited for more reputable services like GoDaddy. My experience with checking the availability of a domain name has been tainted by a slow, largely unresponsive search function. My first (free) .tk domain name had started to redirect to pornography websites out of no where, so I wouldn't recommend using those for anything too important.
