The Awesome Shopping Group: A Ghost in the Machine
A £6.8M revenue company with zero traffic and a 2.5-star rating
Welcome to the paradox of gotelee.co.uk. This is a company generating $8.6M in revenue with a workforce of 40 employees, yet it records exactly zero monthly visits and sits under the 'Law & Government' industry bucket. It's the ultimate B2B ghost ship—profitable, present, and utterly invisible.
"They built the infrastructure but forgot to invite the customers."
The B2B Black Box
Gotelee.co.uk isn't a consumer brand—it's the digital facade for 'The Awesome Shopping Group,' a legal and corporate entity. The site functions as a holding page, a digital business card for a firm that likely operates entirely through contracts, referrals, and offline networks. The 2.5-star rating on Trustpilot isn't a reflection of product failure; it's noise from a handful of public interactions with a massive, opaque corporate machine.
The Tech Stack Paradox
The site is technically competent, utilizing Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, and Google Analytics, yet it drives no traffic. This suggests a deliberate choice: the web presence is purely informational, not acquisition-based. They are spending on engineering (core-js, jQuery, reCAPTCHA) to maintain a static brochure, a classic sign of a legacy business pivoting to digital without a clear strategy for organic growth.
The key personnel listed—partners, legal secretaries, HR heads—reveal the company's true nature. This is not a startup; it is a traditional professional services firm (likely law or real estate) wrapped in a modern, albeit dormant, digital shell. The revenue figure of $8.6M suggests a healthy, mid-sized operation that doesn't rely on SEO or social media to fill its pipeline.
- Revenue Reality: $8.6M generated without a single tracked organic click.
- Digital Silence: Zero traffic implies a closed-loop referral system or offline dominance.
- Trust Deficit: A 2.5-star rating on minimal public exposure signals poor customer experience management.
The Invisible Giant
Proof that revenue doesn't require a digital footprint—just a solid offline network.

Major Problems After Takeover
Having been bought out by Mezzles, most if not all staff have left. They do not return calls nor emails. It's a pity as Gotelees were a good local firm.
Communication almost not existent.
I learned through social media that the local office was closing, After contacting the company, I was advised that my deeds were held by another office but our wills were now with a firm in Derby. This had not been advised to us. Deciding to change to a local solicitor I asked to collect the deeds before the office closed. Despite several emails only one response has been received. The office is now closed and still I have not had a helpful response.
Making a sad time so much worse
My partner's had dealings with Peter Crix at Gotelee Solicitors. She had a very stressful and dreadful experience, and was grossly overcharged for the privilege! Peter Crix was rude and unpleasant. He took forever to do the simplest task, made numerous mistakes, ignored communications, and withheld payments due as long as possible. You only go to a solicitor when times are difficult and this man makes everything worse.
THE WORST SOLICITORS EVER! FINED BY THE LEGAL OMBUDSMAN
THE WORST SOLICITORS EVER! FINED BY THE LEGAL OMBUDSMAN I have never dealt with such awful solicitors as Gotelee. Our legal matter, ,probate, took nearly 3 years to conclude, which should of only taken (roughly) 6 months. The service was so bad we had to ask the Legal Ombudsman to help and, after their investigations, Gotelee were fined. A senior partner, Peter Crix, was slow, rude and totally inadequate, and refused to meet us to discuss our concerns. The costs far exceeded what I had expected with little or no explanation as to why. Please walk away and use some other company.
Won't be using.
Obviously too busy to answer online enquiries despite chasing up by phone as well.
