Alma treats its employees very well with a good work life balance and great programs as well as good pay.

I have been with Alma as a licensed psychotherapist for over 5 years and even though they are not perfect I have been blessed to work with many great clients and continue to do so. I just wish they did a better job with IT support and customer service as you are unable to talk to anyone on the phone. I am annoyed that I cannot use Alma telehealth app due to connectivity issues and there was no resolution. I tried similar companies and they are still the best in spite of the membership fee. They also have the highest rates compared to similar companies that provide insurance billing and administrative support.

From the moment the call began, he appeared disengaged, disinterested, and almost annoyed to even speak with me. I had to initiate every part of the conversation, ask every single question, and practically pull answers out of him. His responses were one-word, dismissive, and provided no meaningful information or insight. To make matters worse, I was told that only two insurance companies were open for credentialing in my area — New York City. For a major metropolitan area with countless providers and plans, that was not only surprising but concerning. It gave the impression that Alma’s network is far more limited than they advertise. If this experience reflects how Alma treats clinicians or the true scope of their offerings, I cannot recommend them. A consultation should feel informative, welcoming, and transparent — not dismissive, unhelpful, and lacking basic industry access.

A therapy platform that scales this way isn’t serving clients well, it damages trust. I hope they fix how they handle cancellations and hold their therapist accountable.
