I mistakenly trusted the ADT company…
I mistakenly trusted the ADT company and agreed to have my security system installed with them after receiving several promotion deals in the mail. The promotion was $19.95/month x 12 months. When the contract was presented, it said $36.99/month. The"manager" said I would have to sign the contract for the $36.99/month, but would receive the difference (between the promotion rate and the contracted rate) at the end of the first contracted year. This was NOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM honored!!! ADT went deaf, dumb and blind and I felt like a jaw-dropped-idiot. Disappointed is a grand understatement. These business practices are simply appalling. The minute I can end this contract, I will! I am praying they send me a price increase - because if they do, I can decline the increase and then cancel the contract. Sadly, this seems to be the only way out of a 3-year commitment with these folks.

People please be EXTREMELY careful with this company. The reps at this company and the company for condoning unscrupulous and deceptive practices. They will look at you in your face and literally lie. PLEASE DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACT WITH THEM. IF YOU DO YOU ARE STUCK FOR 3 YEARS. My rep told me I had 3 mths to cancel and other bold face lies. I called to cancel and to my surprise, it was a lie. I am stuck with this crap for 3 years. I am very unhappy with their service and the company will not do anything about the rep's behavior. It makes sense why they only give you 3 days for cancellation. When I spoke to a customer service rep at defender's it was like "we cannot cancel the contract, you had 3 days to cancel" after I told her what the rep had done. They basically condone their behavior. I thought I was being taken care of by a decent human being who was smiling and I thought he was courteous but it was the opposite...WOLFS IN SHEEPS CLOTHING. I have learned the hard way and I am sharing my experience. All they care about is getting that contract signed to swindle your money out of your pocket. Furthermore, ADT will not back you up against the deception, lies, unscrupulous, fraudulent practices. As far as I am concerned they are just as bad. People it's all about the benjamin's, they do not care about us a customers. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS ON HERE...ALL TRUE!!
Deceptive Business Practices & Fraud
I am filing a complaint about Defenders LLC, an ADT provider, for deceptive business practices and fraud. I originally called ADT the week of June 22, 2020 to inquire about their alarm services. I was told that all equipment would be free, and I would just have to pay an installation fee upfront, and a monthly service fee. This sounded like a good deal, so I decided to go with it. On June 26th, the ADT technician that came to my home to install our equipment said that it is a 3 year contract, but there is a 6-month money back guarantee, and that we would be able to cancel for any reason if we were not happy with the service. At no point during the appointment, did he mention a 3-day cancellation period. At no point during the contract signing, did he mention a 3-day cancellation period. I did not sign a 3-day cancellation clause, and when I received a copy of the contract via email from ADT, I was shocked to see my digital initials next to it. This was a forgery, and complete act of misrepresentation. This contract should be VOID. Not to mention, this all came after the bait and switch scheme their company is running - the equipment they said over the phone would be free actually cost almost $400 after negotiating it down from $1,500. When I originally told the tech that I was not comfortable with signing a 3 year contract and I needed time to think about it, his reply was "well you're already invested with $100, so you're going to lose that, and if you don't sign with me today then I can't give you the price we negotiated". I felt pressured in my own home! When I contacted ADT, they said that our contract was with a company called Defenders LLC, who is one of their providers. The tech who came was wearing an ADT uniform, and had I known my service would be through another company, I would have done my research and seen all of the outrageous scams they have been pulling on people! After reaching out to Defenders and explaining everything, they refused to help and are still holding me to the early termination fee of over $1,000. I'm looking to terminate my contract, because the technician made me believe I had 6 months to do so. I've only had their service for 1 month! Originally I was seeking a refund, but now I would just be happy to cut my losses and get out of this illegitimate contract.
ADT/ Defenders (BBB Not Recommended)
In regards to ADT Security System, I thought they had a "Good Reputation" ….. Wrong! I learned the hard way that they have a company (Defenders) that does their sales pitch, install of their product and for 90 days they own you before ADT takes over. My many complaints took me to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) in their Corporate Office State of Indiana. WOW, no surprise there. In talking to a BBB representative I learned they have been in business since 2016 and due to EXCESSIVE complaints their company is "Under Review". Non Rated by the BBB. Not Recommended ! Here is the # in Indiana to the BBB. (855) 833-1173. They are sending me a form to fill out and return to them. Can't wait to list my complaint. This company lies, does not return calls and once they have what they want from you, you are totally "DISRESPECTED" as a customer, with very poor customer service. Read my April 7, 2019 Review on "Trustpilot", ADT Authorized Dealers Review". Part II will be out soon, as this has been going on since March 25th, 2019, still no response from ADT/Defenders.

I'VE NEVER SEEN A SECURITY COMPANY HIDE THE MASTER PANEL IN A CLOSET BEHIND THE DOOR , WITH EXPOSED WIRING RAN OUTSIDE THE WALL EXPOSED!!!!! YES, WIRES DROOPED OUTSIDE OF DRYWALL, BARE WIRES AND VISIBLE IN PLAIN VIEW. THEY INITIALLY MOUNTED THE PANEL IN THE MASTER BEDROOM AND DECIDED TO MOUNT IT ELSEWHERE AND LEFT 4 LARGE HOLES EXPOSED IN PLAIN VIEW ON MY MASTER BEDROOM WALL!!!!!!
