Very disappointed with Hover’s customer…
Very disappointed with Hover’s customer service and handling of a cancellation request. I contacted Hover to cancel a domain and request a refund within the applicable cancellation timeframe. Unfortunately, my request was not dealt with properly, and I have now been told that because the domain subsequently renewed, they cannot refund me. What I find particularly frustrating is that the response focuses on the renewal date rather than the fact that I had already contacted Hover regarding cancellation. I shouldn’t be penalised because my request wasn’t actioned promptly. The domain is no longer needed and I’m not using it, yet Hover has refused to refund the renewal fee and I’ve had to repeatedly chase the matter and ask for it to be escalated. I’m now awaiting a proper response from their complaints/escalation team. Based on my experience so far, I’m very disappointed and would encourage anyone using Hover to make sure auto-renewal is switched off and to keep records of any cancellation requests.
Garbage company, avoid at all costs!
Signed up, bought a domain (for parking). Assigned Nameservers. Everything was good. Until suddenly my purchase was refunded overnight with zero notice AND my account was 100% locked. Just straight up gone. Attempted to contact support, and was summarily ignored. No updates to the ticket, no notice, not even any kind of greeting. Hover.com is a garbage company. Do not use their services, do not give them your money.
Any organization that auto-renews by default...
Any organization that automatically applies auto-renewal to all orders, then makes it difficult to cancel, is using slimy business practices. That why Hover is slimy: Because they use this slimy business practice. Contact Hover immediately and have them turn off auto-renewal, otherwise they've got you right where they want you. By the way, they made a big deal about how it's their policy not to give refunds for unintentional auto-renewals, even if that means implying the client is lying when they tell them they already requested it be turned off. And they offered me a refund of $10 USD as a special "offer." That's right: They refer to screwing me over as an "offer." Slime. BTW, I also reported them to my bank's fraud department.
