I have been looking for a free alternative to Duolingo as the 5 lives piss me off, and memrise was the answer! I especially love the exercises the bot gives you. So worth it!

I have tried a number of apps and sites to learn Spanish. I recently gave Memrise a shot as they had a sale on and I liked the sound of the methods they use. I have to say it really suits me and I am really enjoying the app and feel like I am making progress with a clear path of progress. I am surprised to read so many negative reviews and cannot comment on previous versions. Things I like: 1. Easy to pick up and do a session in 5 minutes or so. 2. Fun choice of different tests. 3. Measures every word you are learning and learned so you can see your words learned list grow. 4. Good selection of AI to test sentence structure, grammar etc. 5. Wide choice of languages including Welsh. 6. Native speakers and video. 7. Just super fun and addictive. Definitely my favourite language learning app. I find myself using it all the time when I have a spare couple of minutes, sure beats mindless scrolling. Very well designed. I am excited to see this grow as the AI also develops. This is not a paid review and entirely independent in case anyone is wondering. I just really really like this app.

I've bounced
I've bounced. I just wanted to delete progress, and start again. It used to be possible but with recent "upgrades" this is lost. So since i wanted to start a language course from scratch my only alternative was to cancel, create a new account, pay again, maybe get a refund... Just easier to switch to Duo Lingo. A note to the Head of Product. Leaving out this ability was a huge mistake.
