Packlink: The Paradox of Scale in Logistics
How a 990K-visit/month giant battles a 1.8-star rating
Packlink operates in a brutal space: logistics aggregation. With 990K monthly visits and 111 employees, they've built a machine that processes massive volume. But their 1.8-star Trustpilot rating tells a story that traffic metrics hide. This isn't just a shipping comparison site—it's a case study in scaling operations faster than customer experience.
"They've mastered acquisition but are hemorrhaging trust—1.8 stars is a screaming red flag in an industry built on reliability."
The Traffic Paradox
Packlink commands 990K monthly visits with 44% direct traffic—meaning nearly half their users are returning or typing the URL directly. This suggests strong brand recognition, but the 24% organic search traffic reveals they're not dominating SEO for generic terms. They rank for 'packlink' (83K searches) and 'packlink pro' (54K), but when you're competing against 'UPS' (2.9M searches) and 'colissimo' (225K), you're fighting in the shadows of giants.
The Scale vs. Service Dilemma
With 36,565 Trustpilot reviews, Packlink has more feedback data than most startups dream of. Yet a 1.8-star rating means they're consistently failing at the core promise: reliable delivery. In logistics, where every delay costs real money and trust, this isn't a bug—it's a feature of their business model. They aggregate services, but when things go wrong, customers blame Packlink, not the courier.
Their tech stack tells a story of rapid scaling: Tailwind, Bootstrap, Ant Design, WooCommerce, Magento, and Contentful. This is a company that stitched together solutions to grow fast. The presence of WooCommerce and Magento suggests they're also building a B2B proposition (Packlink Pro), likely trying to capture higher-value business shipping contracts. The 54K monthly searches for 'packlink pro' confirm this strategic pivot.
- The 'Amazon' problem: They're a marketplace for couriers, but when service fails, they own the customer relationship and the blame
- B2B expansion is their lifeline: 'Packlink Pro' searches (54K/month) show they're targeting businesses over consumers
- Direct traffic (44%) proves brand stickiness, but the 1.8-star rating suggests customers come back out of necessity, not love
- They're competing against 'UPS' (2.9M searches) by being the cheaper, dumber alternative—until something breaks
The Aggregator's Trap
Packlink proves that in logistics, being the cheapest middleman is a volume game with razor-thin margins and existential reputation risk.

Recipients being charged Release Fees!
Recipients being charged Release Fees on delivery! So I have used Packlink via Ebay for a longtime and things have generally been good until recently. I sent several parcels out in the last week of November '25. Only a couple have reached their destination, but I have been informed by the recipients that they have been issued "Royal Mail Fee To Pay" cards, with a charge of £7 to receive their items due to "underpaid postage". This is NOT ON! 1) Firstly I paid the correct postage £2.69 for a Yodel parcel of less than 1kg. All my previous parcels this size were ok. 2) I paid Packlink for the Yodel service, If I wanted Royal Mail - I would have used them directly. I would not have paid Packlink, to pay Yodel to pay Royal Mail to do the job. 3) It appears that Yodel have paid Royal Mail to deliver, but actually underpaid them so the charge is being passed onto a buyer who has already paid postage for the item. 4) This is stressful for a sender as I am having to deal with (rightly) angry buyers who have had to pay a £7 ransom to get their items or are being held to ransom to receive goods they already paid delivery on. It is the seller who gets in the neck and gets bad feedback and angry messages. Not Yodel or Packlink! 5) The deliveries are way beyond late - I have paid for items to be delivered within a reasonable timeframe by the persons I contracted - the item is late, in some cases still in the depot and in many cases tracking is not updated. I nor my buyers have received the service we expected or paid for! 6) There is no accountability or anyone to speak to as the Online Chat Helpdesk is unfit for Purpose and cannot locate items or account for what has happened! I am NOT happy nor are my buyers. This has been stressful, reputation-damaging, items won't arrive before Xmas, and with undue costs (refunds/ release fees). Totally unacceptable, incompetent and infuriating. I will be seeing about taking legal action under the Consumer Rights Act as I have not received the service I have paid for at the price paid.

Packlink will take your money
It's hard to work with a company like this I sell a small amount on eBay maybe 1 item a day and use packlink for this, I meticulously weigh and measure my items before sending out and so when packlink say an item is overweight and not just by a little a lot and that I will be paying for the extra without a say and that they are taking the funds straight out of my bank.....robbery!!! next time I will leave my door open come and take whatever you like, I entered into a contract you accepted the contract and delivered the item if there is a problem with the weight return the item to me or refuse to deliver the item, don't deliver the item then say poopsie I forgot to say it was too heavy you must now pay us more than double the original cost.....shame on you Packlink!!!!!
SCAM , avoid at all cost
They claim the parcel was 1.2kg when the real weight was 180g. Identical product photo on the scales and in a similar envelope provided, but refused to accept as "not sufficient" because the original envelop different colour. Seriously...? SCAM!!
I have just received an email demanding…
I have just received an email demanding further payment for an item that I sent on the 2nd December. Dimensions overall was 245.0000, Actual measurements 152.0000, but being asked now for an additional £8.40 +vat!!! I refuse to pay this.
