Poorly communicated policy terms
I bought a ten year term policy (at least that was what I was told) twelve years ago, and noticed today that I'm still paying monthly premiums. So I looked up the policy through their online portal and noticed that it was not technically a ten year term but much longer but the benefit drops significantly after ten years. I can't find any electronic communication from when I signed up for the policy to indicate that it was ever communicated to be more than a ten year term policy. I've now canceled the policy. Still thankful I never had to make a claim.

Invasive questions, rude CSRs, dropped calls, and zero peace of mind
I am highly dissatisfied with my experience with Protective Life and would not recommend them. I requested to remove the child rider from my pending application effective immediately due to their overly intrusive health inquiries. This carrier already utilizes MIB and Milliman Script reports for medical underwriting, making their aggressive customer service questioning completely unnecessary and a massive invasion of privacy. Applicants are forced to tell their sensitive medical histories to a complete stranger over the phone. I never waived HIPAA for a casual phone interrogation. To make matters worse, the phone lines constantly drop calls, the audio is filled with heavy static, and the Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) are incredibly rude. If this company has such poor communication lines and constantly drops calls during the application process, it does not give an insured any peace of mind. How can anyone trust that Protective will actually pay out a claim when their loved ones are grieving? Save yourself the headache and privacy concerns—look elsewhere for coverage.
This company is absolutely awful
This company is absolutely awful. It might be nice to deal with when purchasing life insurance. But if you value your beneficiaries do not buy, the customer service is hit and miss, the actual can’t do anything when trying to collect on a claim. The claims department is the absolute worst, I mean worse than all internet, cell phone, and cable companies combined. It is an absolute joke, they will delay the claim as long as they can, they will tell you wrong information when looking for paperwork they request, that none of the life insurance companies needed when collecting when my mother passed away. If you actually love the ones you are leaving the insurance too, do not use this company. If you want to torture them make their life miserable at their time of grieving then definitely buy an insurance policy from this company. Otherwise stay away.i believe I started the claim in the first week of August they are still asking for more documents.
