Great experience at the London store
I booked an appointment at the Denmark Street store to look at the RD-88, and Ben was so helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all my questions and gave me great guidance on accessories such as stands and stools, and was overall so lovely and friendly. Also thanks to George who helped me out with getting my new piano into its case and creating carry-handles to make getting the stand home a bit easier. Overall a really great exeprience!! It was so refreshing to be in a space where there was no hard sell, just enthusiasm and deep product knowledge.
needed to update my v-drums
needed to update my v-drums. Booked a slot at the Denmark Street shop. they were super helpful especially Adam who had the model i was interested in all set up ready. Spent loads of time with me. we exchanged e-mail addresses and after it was delivered he very patiently helped me set up something a little more involved with the settings. brilliant customer service, frankly. Nick Tippett, Seaford, East Sussex.
Customer Care is Excellent
I had a Roland digital piano which was working fantastic how it developed a fault, I got Intouch with Roland customer care and they were fantastic, as I’d already thrown the box away but they allowed me time to get one which a friend helped me with, they arranged for it to be collected on a day that suited me albeit TNT failed to show however it was rearranged and it was collected, taken to the Roland workshop and fixed and returned to me in the packaging I sent it in. I even sent it in my carry bag and it came back in it, wrapped in the material I sent it in which was just fantastic as I did go over the top to protect it. When it was returned I tried it and it was repaired and it’s back to working perfectly. Veronica was just brilliant organising everything and Ian who repaired it did a fantastic job, it plays beautifully, I’m so pleased with it, it took in total about 3-4 weeks which I thought not too bad as I’m not the only customer and would prefer it fixed properly first time which it was rather than rushing. I can’t recommend the customer care team more, they are just so good, I had updates along the way too, overall fantastic customer service
The Juno plugin keeps on crashing
The Juno plugin keeps on crashing. Some sort of bug doesn't let me use it without deleting and re-downloading the could manager to a point where if I wanna work with it, I either need to do this two, three times a week, or use a different plugin. If I pay 250€ for a plugin, it's not to use the ones I had before. Extremely annoying issue that hasn't been fixed in over a year. Anyone going through the same?
I bought several Roland AIRA plug-ins…
I bought several Roland AIRA plug-ins sold as “Lifetime” licenses/keys, expecting to be able to use them indefinitely on my system. The reality is very different: support confirmed in writing that these instruments require online re-authorization every 30 days, and it must be done through Roland Cloud Manager, with no standalone/offline authorization alternative. This isn’t about “not liking updates.” It’s about reliability and workflow. I sit down to produce, open a project, and suddenly I can’t continue because I first have to log in, re-authorize, or update Cloud Manager. Roland inserts itself between the producer and the session. In a professional environment, a project should open and work — period. This also makes “Lifetime” feel like conditional access: if you’re traveling without reliable Wi-Fi, or if Cloud Manager eventually drops support for your macOS version, you effectively lose access to the plug-ins even though they were “purchased.” I deliberately keep my production system “frozen” (I don’t keep upgrading my OS, to avoid breaking compatibility), so this model is especially problematic long-term. And here’s the bigger point: imagine if every vendor did this. A producer with 100+ plug-ins wouldn’t be able to create — you’d spend your studio time authorizing software and maintaining managers. With Native Instruments, Arturia, and Universal Audio, my installed plug-ins keep working. With Roland, the manager + recurring online authorization becomes a single point of failure that can break sessions. The plug-ins sound good, but this licensing/manager dependency is not a professional approach for users who need long-term stability. I won’t be buying Roland software again under these conditions.
