Based on the reviews I hesitated to book a cruise with Seabourn. I tried anyway and I am glad I did. I went on a 7 days cruise on the Seabourn Encore. It was really good. Staff was more then friendly, very supportive and had eye for detail. The food was delious and the whole set up was first class. For sure I am going to book again.
Brilliant cruise
We sailed on the Seabourn Oncore and it was the best holiday that we have ever had. The whole experience was brilliant, the staff superb and the food was first class.
42% Of Seabourn Venture Penthouse Suites Are Not What They Appear
Posting to travel sites: Seabourn Venture Review — April 25 to May 14, 2026 19-Day Mediterranean Cruise — 40th Anniversary Voyage The ship and crew deserve 5 stars. The room situation warrants 1. This review reflects both. The Good — And There Is Plenty of It We chose Seabourn for our 40th wedding anniversary and in many respects the line lived up to its extraordinary reputation. The service throughout the ship was genuinely exceptional — warm, attentive, and personal in a way that only a small ship can deliver. Every staff member we encountered, from the dining room to the pool deck, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The ship itself is outstanding overall. It is relaxed luxury at its best. The food and wine program was outstanding. The dining room delivered consistently excellent meals, and we want to specifically acknowledge Lindsey, the sommelier, whose knowledge and warmth made every dinner a pleasure. The Colonnade on Deck 5 became our favorite spot on the ship — a beautiful, relaxed space that perfectly captures what Seabourn does best. Our massages were excellent, the gym and yoga studio were well equipped. The pool is small, as you would expect on an expedition vessel of this size, and it met our expectations. The ports were all wonderful and the organized tours were very well run. In short — the ship, the crew, the food, the wine, and the destinations were everything we hoped for. We love Seabourn. Which makes what follows all the more frustrating to write. The Room — A Serious Problem That Ruined a Milestone Trip We paid over $48,000 for a Penthouse Suite to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. At the time of booking, our Seabourn sales representative specifically told me our suite would be on Deck 8. We were assigned suite 738 on Deck 7. When we walked through the door we discovered for the first time that we had been placed in a wheelchair accessible suite. We never requested an accessible room. We were never told we were being assigned one or that it would look nothing like the photos on the Seabourn web site. The accessible suite lacks virtually every amenity Seabourn advertises for the Penthouse category: - No soaking tub and separate shower — replaced by an accessible shower - No door for the toilet room - No dining table — there is none - No walk-in closet — replaced by a small, cheaply made particle board wardrobe cabinet with much less storage than a standard Veranda Suite, which we both smashed and bruised our fingers on multiple times when opening - No closable bedroom door In summary, the room is large but not well appointed with a significant shortage of storage space. Others on our cruise who had been stuck with these rooms complained of having to keep open suitcases on the floor due to a lack of storage space. The accessible shower lacks a proper enclosure, causing significant water to pool on the bathroom floor with every use. On at least one occasion the water spread across the entire floor and was surrounding the open toilet area. We began placing towels on the bathroom floor before every shower to contain the water — a solution that should never be necessary in a suite at this price point. The repeated water pooling caused mold to grow under the floor grates within the first few days. I have asthma and a serious mold allergy and experienced symptoms throughout the cruise while in the room. We had the grates cleaned multiple times but the water pooling was never resolved. We raised all of this with the Hotel Director. We were told the ship was fully booked and nothing could be done. A shipboard credit of $300 was offered. What Future Passengers Should Know We have since reviewed Seabourn's official deck plan carefully. Of the twelve suites classified as Penthouse on the Venture, FIVE — fully 42% — are wheelchair accessible configurations. By comparison, the Seabourn Encore, which carries 600 passengers, has only 4 accessible suites spread across multiple categories. The Venture and her sister ship the Pursuit, each carrying 264 passengers, concentrate 5 accessible suites exclusively in the Penthouse category. There is no way to know any of this from Seabourn's deck plan or marketing materials. The deck plan shows only color-coded categories. The website shows only standard Penthouse photos. If you are booking a Penthouse on the Venture or Pursuit, ask specifically whether your suite is accessible, which deck it is on, and whether it has a soaking tub, walk-in closet, and dining table.
The transaction with this company was…adequate
The transaction with this company was good but, the product was ill designed and substandard in quality. My ortho shoes had hard, nonflexible soles, no arch support, front foot and toes compartment lacked the space fullness to fit toes and foot inside comfortably causing compression and discomfort despite one size larger than I normally take. The joins in the shoe were rough and caused friction on the foot. Definitely this brand will never be bought again.

Be very careful when you book with Seabourn; my husband booked a trip paid a $24892.00 for the trip on the 11th of August for a cruise departing the 25th of September & then had to cancel because he was diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer & urgently needed Immunotherapy. He had booked a non refundable fare therefore when Amex cancelled the reservation Seabourn refused to refund payment. To add insult to injury the same cruise in 2027 is currently offered for $16491 refundable fare! Disgusting!
