Predatory Late Fee Practices and Lack of Billing Notice

As a licensed real estate professional, I rely on SentriLock to access properties and serve my clients. I’m shocked and deeply frustrated by their predatory billing practices, which have now impacted my business financially. Without ever receiving a due date notice or any warning that my payment was late, I was suddenly charged a $70 late fee. SentriLock claims they sent billing emails, but I received nothing. No alerts, no reminders, and no visible communication in my inbox or spam folder. The only “notice” I ever received came when I was standing outside a property with clients behind me, waiting to view the home. I opened the app to unlock the door, and only then did a pop-up alert appear. In that moment, with buyers watching and expecting to walk inside, I had no choice but to dismiss it just to do my job. After that, there was no follow-up and no additional reminder until I tried to access another home days later. By that point, the $70 fee had already been charged. This isn’t just poor communication. It feels like a deliberate setup to let fees accrue while agents are out doing their job. The system lacks professionalism, transparency, and respect for the people who rely on it. I am requesting the following: A full refund of the $70 late fee A formal review and overhaul of SentriLock’s billing communication practices Clear and timely advance notice before applying any financial penalties I am also escalating this complaint to other consumer protection agencies and professional networks. I will be sharing my experience publicly with other REALTORS® who depend on this service every day. This is unacceptable, and we deserve better.
