My Sonnen system blew up and is out of…
My Sonnen system blew up and is out of order. For sonnen to react to the danish installers inquiry it takes multiple days where i am worried for our familys health and safety as there is no communication from their side to how to react on the smell and noices coming from the system - even know it is shut down. My previous experience was that sonnen did not respond before 5 months of long communication through their danish installer. Having a system which have worked effective 1.5 year out of 2 years operation is a terrible record and they do not seem to care for anything else than announcing 10 years / 10.000 cycle warrenty. Once installed the actual operations during this time is not something they acommodate for and if you ever buy a product from them - make sure you hold them liable for the lack of operations. For now I stand unclear of if they intent to provide a new 10 year / 10.000 cycle warrenty considering their poor record. Update 13 june 2025 I already contacted you on that E-mail prior to this post without you returning to my inquiry. Update 29 June 2025 Sonnen informed that they will replace the system and acknowledge that the past system have not been operational in the past years. We now await their delivery to arrive for replacement. Sonnen promised to provide a new 10 years warrenty on the new system, whereas the cost during the downtime remains on our shoulders. As of today those are 62 Eur for 14 days. I raised my experience from 1 to 2 stars as they for now acknowledge the issue but yet have to proof efficiency and final conlution on this matter. Update 14 July Sonnen confirmed that they would change the full system to ensure the system as whole was not affected by the incident. Today they confirmed that the shipment is ready at 1komma5 who now needs to get an electrician to change the system and components. Further i was provided with 10 years warrenty from the new installation day to cover the costs and acommodate the downtime. Considering their effectiveness in this case i updated my stars to 5 as they stood by their promises so far. Now the rest is up to 1komma5 to proof - but many thanks Sonnen, I hope the new system will proof its value and the monday model i had the firdt time was a one off.

No Customer after service!
This is A terrible company. I have been trying to contact the Balearic La Grotta Solar distributor without success despite spending over €60,000.02 years ago no one answers the phone. I have also contacted Son and DIRECT and had no reply.

Near non-existent customer service
Had a Sonnen Eco battery system fitted in March 2019 and for the most part the system has been faultless. In December 2023 I had my first issue with a failed module. Although the module was replaced under warranty, it took 10 weeks for the repair to be completed. I am now having another issue which started in August 2025, again I emailed support and it has now been 4 weeks and still no idea when my issue will be rectified. Support is basically non-existent, if you don't continually email them, they won't give you any updates. For the money this brand costs, you would think they would have a better support service. Sadly this is not the case. I have given them 2 stars but I would rate the product as 4 stars but the support as 1 star. I am located in Australia.

Biggest mistake ever
I tried to give this system a fair chance, but I 100% regret my purchase of the ECO10 system. We have had our system for 5 years and it has never worked as advertised. We’ve had battery failures in year 1 and more often than not every time they do a system update, it causes the system to malfunction. Every firmware update causes our generator settings to be changed without our knowledge and we don’t find out it doesn’t work until we have a power outage. Service is difficult to get a hold of and when you have an open ticket communication on the status is terrible. My system currently won’t draw down to back-up buffer and uses grid power all night. It says I have battery on the apps , but the main unit says the battery is at 0 and the system shuts down when we have a power outage. We live in one of the most expensive electric utility areas with frequent power outages and my system is buying power when I have battery and sending power to grid without charging batteries fully. The response I get from Sonnen Service is they are monitoring and according to their data everything is functioning. Well if they would get from behind their keyboards and actually have technicians come out, they would see that the system is not functioning as it should. I insisted on a replacement and am being ignored. Worst purchase mistake of my life and an expensive lesson.

customer service doesn't seem to exist
My sonnenBatterie 10 failed exactly two years after purchase (permanent red light error). Despite four emails over 10 days, I’ve received no response from customer support. Calling their hotline is pointless—it’s impossible to get through. What’s especially frustrating: I’m based in Germany, near their back office, yet communication is nonexistent. Handing over to Verbraucherzentrale or lawyer now.
