TinEye is the best online reverse image search engine similar to Google Goggles (only for Android). You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions. Load up a photo from a point of interest and TinEye lets you know, what it is.
Great tool for finding the source of (some) pictures
I would give this site 5 stars, but I often find that tineye.com cannot find the images I search for. But other than that, it's a great idea, easy to use, and usually works. :)

I've used Tinyeye many times, along with the other 42 image search apps I have loaded. Not once in 4 years has it came back with a positive, whereas the others do. This is strictly from my personal experience, and it costs nothing to use, yet is non-functional for me.

Tried using this site repeatedly for many years but never ONCE has it found a SINGLE RESULT! It’s not like I use a mega cropped, edited image; I use standard stock pictures but it never finds anything! Most the time I use images from stores to find if the products I want is sold anywhere else but still it never recognises it!!! I’m sorry but how any decent image search engine can’t identify an image from a site like EBAY, ARGOS, TESCO, WALMART OR MERCARI is INSANE!! Awful. Could go into the street with a printed image and get better results! Why the hell this was ever hailed as the go to website for image searching is beyond me!!!!!!
