Vydia is hands on with their approach to artists and record labels
I've been in the record label game for about 10 years now and vydia - by far - has the most hands on and professional approach when dealing with a distributor. Coming from what's considered a 3rd world country, their technology has helped us gain the traction we have needed for continual growth in our region and I look forward to many more fulfilling years with them.
Banned me without reason
They banned me without reason, when I ask them the reasons they banned my account They say they will review and contact me but that never happened.
Usage Violation Fee
Vydia was ok at first. Until they charged me 500$ for a Usage Violation Fee. I uploaded a remix to a song and didn’t think much of it. I checked my account and noticed a charge for 500$. I emailed Vydia and was told the copyright owner issued a DMCA takedown for the remix (in December). There’s no reason I should be charged 500$ for making a remix on someone else's beat. It’s wiser to just give the user a warning. I am extremely disappointed in Vydia and will be transferring back to Distrokid.
Wrongfully terminated account of label
Wrongfully terminated account of label, leaving us to explain all of our artists why they are not receiving their royalties. All songs had the correct rights, none are infringing, and they were all properly licensed beats from producers with no issues. We received no explanation of the termination and had over $12,000 or more in royalties withheld and never paid to us. To make it worse they kept some of our music live on DSPs, and kept all of our songs in ContentID so they are monetizing all of our works and paying us nothing. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. To make matters even worse they reached out to us FIRST to work with us. They knew we had catalog they could scam us out of. We will be pursuing all available legal remedies

WARNING: My Experience with Vydia Music Distribution After more than 3 years of dealing with Vydia, I feel compelled to share my experience. Vydia falsely accused my music of artificial streaming and used this as justification to withhold over £5,000 in royalties that were rightfully earned. What makes this situation even more concerning is that despite claiming my music violated their policies, they continued to keep my songs live on streaming platforms, where they continued generating streams and revenue month after month. If the streams were genuinely invalid, why were my releases left active and monetized? That is a question Vydia has never properly answered. Over time, I have also noticed changes to their terms and conditions that appear designed to protect the company while leaving artists with fewer rights and less transparency regarding withheld earnings. As an independent artist, I expect fair treatment, accurate reporting, and payment for every legitimate stream generated by my music. Instead, I have spent years attempting to recover royalties that I believe are owed to me. I will be pursuing all available legal options to recover my earnings, seek compensation, and hold accountable everyone involved in what I consider to be unfair and deceptive business practices. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise artists to thoroughly research Vydia before distributing their music through the platform. Every stream matters. Every royalty matters. Artists deserve transparency, accountability, and payment for the work they create.
