Wondercraft: The AI Studio for Real Work
How a 33-person team is turning chat into a $6.2M video production powerhouse
Forget prompting a black box. Wondercraft is building an AI-native video studio where you don't just describe your vision—you edit it, refine it, and ship it, all while chatting with an AI agent. This isn't a toy; it's a $6.2M revenue engine built for professionals who need to create video and podcasts at the speed of thought.
"Wondercraft isn't selling AI magic; they're selling a production workflow that happens to be powered by AI."
The Growth Paradox
With 265,561 monthly visits and a global rank of #143,436, Wondercraft is scaling rapidly. But the traffic mix tells a deeper story: 48% organic and 40% direct. This isn't a viral flash-in-the-pan; it's a product-driven growth curve. Users aren't just discovering them—they're coming back. The top keyword, 'ai podcast generator' (17,840 monthly searches), reveals where the demand lies: audio-first content is the Trojan horse for video creation.
The Real User Persona
The data suggests a sophisticated user base. High direct traffic indicates a B2B or prosumer audience using the tool for work, not just play. With founders like Oskar Serrander (ex-Founder of Soundtrap, acquired by Spotify) and Didier Sibellas (Head of Design), the product is clearly built by people who understand the pain of audio/video production. They aren't targeting hobbyists; they're targeting creators who need to ship content efficiently.
The tech stack—Vite, Tailwind, GSAP—suggests a modern, performant frontend, but the real innovation is the 'AI agent as creative assistant.' Unlike competitors that offer simple text-to-video, Wondercraft integrates a real editor. You don't just get a clip; you get a timeline. You chat to adjust, you edit manually. It’s a hybrid model that respects the creator's agency.
- Hybrid Workflow: Combines AI generation with a traditional timeline editor (unlike pure AI prompts).
- Model Agnostic: They claim to offer 'every top model,' avoiding vendor lock-in for voice and video generation.
- Audio-First DNA: The founding team's background in audio (Soundtrap) bleeds into the product, making the podcast tools exceptionally strong.
- B2B Ready: With $6.2M in revenue and a focus on 'real work,' the tool is positioned for agencies and marketers, not just consumers.
The Verdict: A Studio, Not a Toy
Wondercraft is betting that the future of AI video isn't about replacing editors, but giving them superpowers. With $3.5M in funding and a clear path to $6.2M in revenue, they are one of the few AI video companies actually monetizing at scale.

Mixed experience
My reason for trying out Wondercraft was to create a podcast from a pdf. The experience was mixed. There interface is clean and I like it. It is pretty user friendly. I uploaded my own voice sample to use in the podcast. The render they did was okay, but too far out from the original. But when I applied it to the actual podcast a very strange accent was applied. Making it sound weird and useless. I could not find a way to correct mistakes, like 'go back one step' or something like it. The AI refused to convert the full pdf to a podcast. It took me 5 runs to have it convert 75%. The sound and feeling of the end result is still very unnatural sounding. You know it is AI and not real people. Although using the Parrot function, which I think is very good, I managed to make it sound more human. But using that function uses up all credits. Then the podcast is full of blips, missing word parts of words and pronunciation errors. I cannot use it unfortunately. For my purposes Wondercraft is still too much in a development stage and too expensive at the same time. I will cancel my subscription and return at a lager stage.
They make you upgrade the basic…
They make you upgrade the basic version, to one that you have to pay. I said, ok you know what maybe the other version will be great ! It is not, it is basically the same version as the free one but with more credits ! Then they ask you to take ''an appointment with the CEO'' to refund you, but when you use the link, it doesnt work at all ! I other terms, dont pay it's no worth it ! I don't recommand at all !
Lost Tracks, Lost Trust
I once believed in Wondercraft. Its parrot mode gave real personality to a voice—something meant to live on in audio form for a friend’s children and grandchild. I'd found nothing like it in 2024. That was priceless. So I recommended the service and he paid premium. When Wondercraft lost his voice tracks in February, it was devastating. By Summer we tried again and in September we thought ok, they restored them. They recovered some, only to lose them again within days and horribly AFTER we'd edited them. Getting them restored felt like pulling teeth. During this time, the company shifted focus to new features and a redesigned interface. For me, unfortunately, the new services didn’t work properly—and longtime users like us, my friend and our community seemed quietly discarded. Support became slower, at times even dismissive. And for my friend, for over $1,000 paid, the product never materialized and the service didn’t delivere on its promise to restore the lost tracks. Id suggested he simply request a reprieve from the steep costs and he basically was told to finish the work himself (in essence begin again but without their support and then good riddance) Whatever the trade-off, he got the short end of the stick. I was gutted. What began as an inspiring project to preserve a voice for future generations became a year-long struggle of lost voices, lost trust, and disappointment. I no longer use Wondercraft. I’ve since found other platforms that now offer the same features—reliably. But to my friend, I'm so sorry I got him into this. For creators who value their time, money, and emotional investment: tread carefully. The Wondercraft that once showed promise has lost its grounding in reliability and customer care.
Ai was uncapable for prompt input.
Ai Couldnt follow simple prompts , and gave me an audio response that sounded "so called" similar when it did not. Very Unpleased.
