75F: The Invisible Brain for Commercial Buildings
How a $15.7M startup is automating the $200B HVAC market with smart sensors
Most commercial buildings are dumb. They waste 30% of their energy on heating and cooling empty rooms. 75F is betting that the future isn't just smart—it's autonomous, using AI to balance airflow and air quality without human intervention.
"75F isn't selling hardware—they're selling the absence of a facilities manager."
The Problem They Solve
Commercial HVAC is a $200B industry stuck in the 1990s. Buildings rely on static schedules and dumb thermostats, leading to massive energy waste. 75F's sensors monitor temperature, humidity, CO2, and light in real-time, feeding data to a cloud AI that dynamically adjusts dampers and VAV boxes. The result: 20-40% energy savings and better air quality—automatically.
Growth & Traction
With 51K monthly website visits and a #571K global rank, 75F isn't a viral consumer app—it's a B2B engineering play. The traffic is concentrated (92% from one undefined region, likely the US), and search intent is highly technical. Keywords like 'automatic balancing damper for variable airflow' signal they're targeting HVAC engineers and facility managers, not general audiences.
The company's tech stack is modern but pragmatic: Tailwind CSS and Bootstrap for the frontend, PWA for mobile access, and Contentful for content management. They're not reinventing the wheel—they're applying proven web tech to a legacy industrial problem. The lack of backlink data suggests their SEO is nascent, but the 61% organic traffic share shows strong word-of-mouth in niche circles.
- Founder-led with Deepinder Singh at the helm—technical founder with clear vision
- Niche dominance: They own the 'automatic balancing damper' search category
- Trustpilot score of 3/5 with only 2 reviews—early days for customer feedback
- Funding: $29.9M raised, but revenue is still modest at $15.7M—room for scale
75F is building the operating system for buildings.
While others focus on flashy smart home gadgets, they're quietly automating the unsexy infrastructure that powers the economy. If they scale, every commercial building could become self-optimizing.

HVAC and lighting controls upgrades
These guys make pre-programmed HVAC and lighting controls that use IoT and the cloud instead of hardwired equipment to adjust air in our offices to the areas where it is needed. 75F offered better indoor air quality management and were faster and cheaper to install than the other large competitors we reviewed, but what made us select them was that they offer better sequencing and thus promise more energy savings. So far we are seeing roughly 35% energy savings, which is 10% more than we expected, and 75F says that should increase in winter months. We have a mix of mostly older equipment and thermostats in the space, and 75F was able to do the install themselves in a few meetings and get our facilities crew trained up on the new software. There was a bit of a delay in scheduling an install which was annoying and they offer a lot of features that seem unnecessary and that we don't need but overall we've been fairly satisfied.

This company over-complicated our system with unreliable hardware. We were promised that by switching, we’d have a lower energy bill. They installed a bunch of cheap low quality android tablets in our walls to communicate with the HVAC systems. Not only does it not work properly, but our energy bill is even higher because the system is running when it shouldn’t be(despite the schedule), or not running enough and overcompensating later. Terribly inefficient. When we try to troubleshoot, support will tell us “looks like according to our chart it’s running correctly” and then ignore us. They’re in Minnesota, so they only see the “live data” through the internet act like it’s functioning, but can’t be here to witness the system not working physically, and ignore us when we tell them so. The sensors they installed are reading wrong, the rooms are cold, the heat is NOT running when it claims to be, and we’ve had nothing but problems. We do not find this company dependable or useful. The worst part is the UI of the app on the silly little tablets. It’s overdone and there’s too much to look at. It might let you adjust temps, it might not. Can’t tell if the tablets are connected to the WiFi or not when troubleshooting, because the tablets are so finicky. It responds to touchscreen way to slow, and you end up double or triple clicking and screwing things up. We’ve had nothing but regrets, and will be looking at hopefully reverting to the ecobee setup we had, which was simple and reliable and still uses an app if you really care that much to use one. I would give zero stars on 75F if I could. Sick of this garbage.
