AMASS: The Botanic Empire You Haven't Heard Of
Why a $10M botanical brand is rewriting the rules of modern consumption
In a world drowning in seltzers and synthetic sanitizers, AMASS is quietly building a botanic empire. They're not just selling products—they're selling a ritual, blending clean ingredients with design-forward aesthetics to capture a generation tired of mass-produced everything.
"They aren't competing with San Pellegrino or Seventh Generation—they're creating an entirely new category where botanicals meet lifestyle."
The Botanical Playbook
AMASS operates in a fascinating dual-market strategy. Their $10.1M revenue is split between two seemingly disconnected verticals: non-alcoholic spirits (Riverine) and personal care (hand sanitizer, soap, candles). Yet, this isn't random—it's a calculated land grab in the 'conscious consumption' space. While competitors focus on one category, AMASS owns the entire ritual, from the hand you shake to the drink you sip. Their 7,772 monthly visits, with 43% direct traffic, suggest a cult following that types 'amass.com' directly into their browser—rare for a brand of this size.
The Data Doesn't Lie
Look closer at their top keywords: 'amass' (14K monthly volume) and 'amass riverine' (290 monthly) show strong brand recall. But the real signal is the long-tail curiosity—'when was the first after work beer recorded in history' (60 monthly). This isn't a search for products; it's a search for context. AMASS is tapping into consumers who care about the story, the origin, the 'why' behind what they consume. Their 72 employees generate $10.1M, or roughly $140K per employee—efficient for a DTC brand navigating post-pandemic realities.
The tech stack reveals their ambition. They're not using off-the-shelf Shopify templates. With Tailwind CSS, Vite, and D3.js, they're building custom experiences. The presence of Slick and Bootstrap suggests they're optimizing for mobile-first conversion, while Twitter Cards and Priority Hints indicate a sophisticated content strategy. This isn't a hobbyist site; it's engineered for scale.
- Dual-vertical strategy: Spirits & Sanitizers (a post-2020 masterstroke)
- 72 employees generating $10.1M revenue ($140K/employee)
- 43% direct traffic signals true brand loyalty
- Top keyword 'amass' hits 14K monthly searches
- Tech stack leans heavy on modern frameworks (Vite, Tailwind)
The Quiet Giant in Botanic DTC
AMASS proves that in a noisy market, owning a niche lifestyle ritual is worth more than chasing viral moments. They're not building a beverage brand; they're building a botanic ecosystem.

Terrible service, broken product
I ordered their hand sanitizer and it arrived broken and half empty. This is a $50 bottle of hand sanitizer. The least you can expect is a response to a customer service email but after TWO months of trying to get in touch with someone, I've resorted to a public review. This company has made it pretty clear they don't respect or appreciate their customers. There are many small business owners making similar products that appreciate their customers--- I'd recommend going elsewhere for your purchases.
