AnywhereWorks: The Human-First Collaboration Playbook
A 35-person team generating $4.1M with a bot-free pledge. Here's the playbook.
In a market saturated with AI-driven customer service bots, AnywhereWorks is making a counter-intuitive bet: the future is human. With a lean team of just 35 people, they're generating $4.1M in revenue by promising real connection over automated scripts.
"They aren't just selling software; they're selling the absence of AI."
The 'Pledge People' Strategy
The data reveals a fascinating signal: 46% of their traffic is direct. This isn't accidental; it's brand equity. Customers aren't finding AnywhereWorks through SEO hacks—they're typing the URL directly. With a 3/5 Trustpilot rating from just 2 reviews, the narrative is clear: they prioritize depth of impact over volume of chatter. Their headcount is deliberately lean, with roles like 'Head of Mattering and Impact' suggesting a culture-first, product-second approach.
The Anti-Bot Revenue Engine
While the global rank of #2.1M suggests a niche footprint, the revenue-to-employee ratio is elite. At $4.1M revenue with 35 employees, they generate ~$117k per employee. This is a high-leverage operation. Their traffic sources (35% organic, 46% direct) indicate a brand that resonates deeply with a specific audience rather than casting a wide net. They aren't competing for volume; they're competing for trust.
The technology stack—Vue.js, Tailwind, DaisyUI—reflects a modern, lightweight frontend approach suitable for real-time collaboration tools. However, the lack of significant backlink data or organic keyword volume outside of branded searches suggests they are still in the early stages of scaling awareness. The top keywords are almost entirely navigational ('anywhereworks', 'anywhere works founder'), proving they own their brand but haven't yet cracked the code on capturing broad intent.
- High Revenue Efficiency: $4.1M from a 35-person team indicates extreme operational leverage.
- Direct Traffic Dominance: 46% direct traffic suggests strong word-of-mouth and brand recall.
- Niche Positioning: 'Pledge People, Not Bots' is a sharp differentiation in a crowded market.
- Tech Agility: Vue.js and Tailwind stack allows for rapid iteration and lightweight deployment.

Something is not quite right here...
AnywhereWorks refused to provide normal business information, (e.g., who owns the company, etc.) and asked…no (required) me to take a picture of myself and another person…refusing to allow me to verify my identity by the legal an practiced method of a Notary Public. I worked for AnywhereWorks for less than 1.5 days, due to their unorthodox business practices. Here is what happened: I applied for the position Customer Success Representative at AnywhreWorks; was denied for that position; however, I was invited to interview for a different position, which I did, and I was offered the position…I accepted it. April 8, 2021 | Except: “Thank you for your interest in employment with AnywhereWorks! At this time, we have decided to pursue another candidate for the Customer Success Representative position, but we would like to invite you to continue on through to the next steps of the hiring process for another position we have available. We invite you to start our official interview process for the Remote Client Experience Associate position…” I interview with a nice person by the name of Lorena Garcia, who offered me the job during the video conversation. (April 12, 2021) April 12, 2021 | Excerpt “Hello David, We are excited to offer you a starting date with AnywhereWorks! This training class starts on 4/14/2021 and runs Wednesday through Friday for 1.5 weeks from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm PST (10:00 am - 6:00 pm EST). Does this start-date work for you? After reading and agreeing to the information listed below, please respond with whether you can or cannot begin working with AnywhereWorks on 4/14/2021 as soon as possible.” And… “ Date: 4/12/2021 Offer of Employment Hello David, We are pleased to make a conditional offer of employment to you for the position of Client Experience Associate with AnywhereWorks, pending successful completion of new hire paperwork, personal background check, and the required Learning and Development Phase.” Then began the process of filling out forms and staring my training, which was to begin Wednesday, April 14, 2021). Filling out forms was where the problems began… I asked … they answered: ((Not enough here to write everything so, here is the end)) My final communication with Lorena was this… April 15, 2021 Hello Lorena, Our messages crossed; I did not see your message as I was writing the (in-line) to you. It seems we are of the same opinion but for very different reasons; because, indeed I was ready, willing, and able to complete your request for I-9 verification, I simply questioned…as any business-minded person would, the validity of your request for a family-member or neighbor to do your job, then to ask that family-member or neighbor to be imaged, which is something not even our government requires of the (employer). In my review(s) of (AnywhereWorks) I will include this information, which in my opinion should be made known to the applicate during the hiring process, as well as who owns the company…a question that was never answered by anyone at AnywhereWorks. Again, if you work for someone, anyone should know for whom they are working. It is a valid inquiry. Cordially. David (insert) Hello again, I just wanted to follow-up on our conversation just now; as I mentioned. I do not understand how/why you would ask me to ask a family member and worse yet a neighbor to place their trust in a company of which they have no knowledge, yet to (image) them for an I-9 that is supposed to be completed by the Employer. Even worse, AnywhereWorks is saying that you are assigning an “agent” yet how does that protect me/the agent against Covid? In a situation such as this, a notary…who has been licensed via the appropriate state, and who (DOES NOT) have to submit to an (image) of themselves being used for … whatever reason, this is the better alternative. If AnywhereWorks disagrees with my request to have my identity verified by a legal agent for such purpose….this is not normal business practices. Sincerely, David” AnywhereWorks, never answered the legitimate asked question, who are the owners, nor did they ever explain why I Notary Public (a legal authorized agent) could not validate my identity. For these reasons, I rate them a two of five stars.
Worst Company Ever
This is the most absolutely worst company to deal with in any way shape or form. Do not use their services and do not work for them. They commit the most heinous acts from belittling you, talking to you in condescending manners and ultimately harassing you. They are extremely unprofessional and hateful. HR are full of uneducated children barely out of diapers with very bad attitudes. They hire people into management positions with criminal histories and cannot keep the people who actually do good jobs.
