CMS Law: The 300-Person Powerhouse
How a UK law firm built a 350K monthly visit digital fortress
In a sector notorious for billable hours and PDF brochures, CMS is playing a different game entirely. With 303 employees and a $102M revenue engine, they're not just a law firm—they're a digital content powerhouse that happens to practice law. Their secret? Treating their website like a product, not a brochure.
"CMS isn't just winning the SEO game—they've turned legal content into a scalable product that generates 350K monthly visits without a single traditional ad campaign."
The Content Flywheel
While most law firms treat blogs as side projects, CMS's 'Law Now Blog' is their growth engine. With 865K+ backlinks—more than many tech unicions—they've built an authority moat that competitors can't touch. Their blog isn't just thought leadership; it's a lead generation machine that converts 350K monthly visitors into client relationships.
The Product-Minded Firm
CMS's 303 employees generate $102.3M in revenue—that's $337K per employee, exceptional for legal services. But here's the kicker: they're investing in modern web tech (Tailwind, PWA, AOS) while competitors still use WordPress templates from 2015. This isn't just a law firm with a website; it's a tech-enabled service business.
The Trustpilot score of 2.4/5 reveals a fascinating tension. CMS is crushing digital marketing but may be struggling with individual client experience. This pattern is common in scale-ups: they nail acquisition but need to evolve their service delivery. For a law firm, this suggests they're serving enterprise clients (who care about expertise) better than individual consumers (who care about service).
- Digital-first mindset: 58% of traffic is organic, showing they've mastered SEO in a traditionally offline industry
- Tech stack modernization: Using Splide, AOS, and Tailwind—tools you'd expect at a Series B startup, not a law firm
- Global reach strategy: The 'Future Facing Law' tagline isn't just marketing; it's a product strategy for cross-border legal services
The Law Firm That Thinks Like a SaaS Company
CMS proves that even the most traditional industries can win by treating digital experience as a core product, not a marketing expense. Their 865K backlinks and 350K monthly visits aren't accidents—they're the result of a decade-long investment in content as a scalable asset.

Stay away from CMS
Stay away from these scams! I found one of their lawyers via Google search and emailed him a brief description of my case. He kindly offered a 30-minute call. I assumed the first call was free of charge and for me to understand if he was potent enough to handle my case so I could recruit him. In less than 20 min I realized he was not a fit for my case, and the call ended with me deciding not to pursue my case with him. He even brought up totally unrelated topics (e.g., his neighbors, other famous people he knows, etc.) to fill the 30 min call. 3 months later, I was shocked to receive an invoice from him charging me 600 Euros + 150 Euros VAT = 750 Euros for less than 30 min call. I reached out to consumer support without success because lawyers are not obliged to tell you their rates beforehand. God knows how many people fall victim.

Transphobic solicitor encouraged by partner
The solicitor I dealt with was trasphobic and misgendered me repeatedly. Their boss gave me an apology, yet the response regarding the legal matter from the partner discounted their employee's conduct and continues to penalise me for my pain and suffering caused by the breaches of the equality act 2010
They suppress comment on Russian oligarchs
They may be good lawyers but they suppress comment on Russian oligarchs according to Bob Seely, the Conservative MP for the Isle of Wight in the House of Commons so I would never use them.
