Had a really bad experience with broker…
Had a really bad experience with broker Payne Stewart. We booked a load, and when our driver arrived at the shipper on Friday, he was told the load wouldn’t be ready until Monday. I contacted the broker, and it took them almost three hours to finally confirm that the load was indeed not ready. The broker confirmed to me that TONU would be paid. Once my driver was already dispatched to another load and we had fully recovered from the delay, the broker called the driver 15–20 minutes after departure saying the original load was now ready and he could come back to pick it up. From a professional standpoint, we cannot cancel a confirmed recovery load, as that could lead to a negative report. Because we refused to return to the original load, the broker then decided not to pay the TONU, claiming the load was ready and we didn’t want to pick it up. This is extremely unprofessional behavior. I recommend avoiding booking loads with this company.
