MicroTech: The $165M GovTech Giant You've Never Heard Of

813 employees, $165M revenue, and a 2.3-star rating. The federal contractor paradox.

In the shadow of Silicon Valley's unicorn factories, MicroTech operates a different kind of empire: 813 employees, $165M in revenue, and a business model built entirely on federal contracts. This isn't a startup story—it's a government contractor's playbook, and the numbers reveal why they're thriving in plain sight.

"MicroTech proves that in B2G, scale beats sentiment. Revenue matters more than ratings when you're serving Uncle Sam."

The Government Contractor's Playbook

MicroTech isn't chasing viral growth—they're chasing contracts. With 43% direct traffic and only 5,004 monthly visits, their acquisition model is relationship-driven, not SEO-optimized. The 'undefined' country traffic (66.6%) is likely government IP ranges, a telling metric for their federal focus. Their login portal redirects to GovWin, the government contractor's bible, signaling deep integration with the procurement ecosystem.

The Revenue-Trust Paradox

Here's the contradiction: $165M in revenue with a 2.3-star rating from just 6 reviews. In consumer tech, this would be a death sentence. In government contracting, it's Tuesday. Their Trustpilot score is irrelevant when your client is the Department of Defense. The real metric? 813 employees and steady growth—proof that performance for the government doesn't require public applause.

The tech stack tells the story of a company optimized for stability, not innovation. jQuery, Bootstrap, and core-js power their site—technologies that enterprise contractors love for their reliability. No flashy React or Vue here. They're not building for developers; they're building for compliance officers. The PWA and RSS feeds suggest they're modernizing just enough to stay relevant, but the foundation is pure enterprise.

  • Tony Jimenez leads as President/CEO/Founder—classic founder-led B2G structure
  • Key verticals: Intel, Network Solutions, Product Solutions, Financial Services
  • Traffic dominance: 43% direct, 36% organic—relationships drive the business
  • No funding rounds: Bootstrapped or quietly profitable since day one
No viral growth loops
Deep federal relationships
No consumer brand recognition
Stable $165M revenue stream
Public-facing site is nearly invisible to organic search
813 employees in a high-trust, low-turnover environment

MicroTech is the anti-unicorn

They don't need 10M users or 5-star reviews. They need 813 skilled people and a pipeline of federal contracts. In the world of government tech, that's not a bug—it's the entire business model.

If I could put zero stars

If I could put zero stars, I would. Everything started fine when I decided to buy a knife for $270 + shipping $15. I bought and decided to go on vacation for a month, so when I get back, I’d have the knife already delivered. Later, I found out that the package requires my signature but I was out. Then, it was delivered to a UPS location. I called that location and tell them tracking number, they say they don’t have that package. At this point I’m confused. The office transfers me to UPS tech support. Tech support transfers me to ups office location. I tried to pay $5 for it to stay there even thought office people say they don’t know about that package. I pay $5 anyway just to hold on to package and get back to it later. It doesn’t say how long they can hold my package but apparently only a week. Because after a week, my package got sent back to sender. Ok, whatever, I didn’t receive for these multiple reasons, ok, just give me my money back. I told me multiple times that I won’t have access to my credit card because I’m cancelling and can receive refund via Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, cash app. They said only can do credit card (the one I purchased from) or check. I told them again I don’t have access to credit card I purchased from. They said ok, we’ll send you a check soon. I sent them my address multiple times just to be sure. I sent them multiple messages, please don’t make me sign for package again, when, what is eta of check. They ignore me and send an email that they refund me on June 6th on my credit card because they can’t do check. This is when I blow up. I feel very sorry for other customers because they’re experiencing/will experience the same problem. Very stupid people at tech support. Like they don’t care what you send them, they just do what THEY want. Ok, how will I get my refund if I don’t have access to credit card they sent refund to. They just don’t care. This is the only thing I can do is to write a bad reviews about them and make other people cautious

SCAM ALERT

If I could, I would give this "company" a negative star rating. They contacted my great-aunt, a 73-year-old woman with dementia, and told her that her computer was infected and need to be "fixed". They did "something" and then charged her $3426. I did not know about this until she passed this past week, and I was going through her records. She is in Kentucky and this place says it's located in Florida. I originally had the thought of going to their office to confront them on this obvious fraud, but I'm also in Kentucky, and they probably don't have an actual office in Florida. Please DO NOT engage with these people. They are illegitimate in every sense. "Tech Support caller" - James Walker Ext. ID - 1002 Employee ID - MS7890

Poor Management

MicroTech is a poorly managed IT re-seller. They do not provide their customers with proper results backed with limited to no technology understanding. They are a bid board re-seller only responding to TV or Cable deals. Their leadership lacks the knowledge base to have a customer conversation with out bring in the OEM. Deal size is very small. I came in with no training as will all and if you do receive any feedback it is very limited in scope of knowledge and task. Bid Board Surfer's At Best.

Lack of organization

They fulfilled agreement, but it wasn't without a lot of friction, poor communication, and at times unprofessionalism. There is a lack of organization within the team, trouble delivering on agreed timelines and created more work for the client. I encourage any company considering Microtech to look elsewhere.
