I find Replit incredibly valuable for creating and deploying my hobby SaaS projects in a single platform, simplifying management. I appreciate the transparent pricing structure, which shows usage statistics after each prompt and allows for usage-based billing beyond the monthly limit, ensuring I can continue my projects without interruption. The connector apps feature stands out for eliminating the cumbersome task of creating and linking multiple API keys, significantly streamlining the development process. The main drawback is the lack of documentation for setting up local environments for projects created in Replit’s web UI, which can make correcting environment variables and package files time-consuming.
Terrible at synching and charges for every instruction, regardless if it executes the code correctly.
It's amazing what the app can accomplish. But, it's terrible at synching changes to your cell phone. I've literally had to repeatedly ask the same instruction 20 different ways for it to still not work. And the kicker is, it charges you every time, EVEN WHEN IT REPEATELY MESSES UP! Kind of a rip off.
Contrary to instructions AI published my website
AI published my website after asking me if replit could do that. I declined, but their chat bot says I approved it. I took a screenshot of my declining publishing. However, no one responds to requests for help. Instead they collected hundreds of dollars for my work in progress and I don’t have access anymore. Once, several hours of work actually disappeared the next day. At that point, I stopped developing during 2025 Nov/Dec holidays. Came back today to find my site live despite earlier explaining it was not quite ready. Even what they published is gone! Along with work in progress. Also, replit created four websites without my asking it to do so. Probably in a year all will automatically renew…
