Seacret: The Dead Sea's $35M Mystery
A 608-person company selling minerals with a 1.9-star rating. Here's the breakdown.
In a world obsessed with AI and SaaS, Seacret.com is a $35M relic selling Dead Sea minerals to 39,824 monthly visitors. With a 1.9/5 Trustpilot rating and 608 employees, this isn't just a skincare brand—it's a masterclass in direct-to-consumer resilience.
"With 608 employees and $35M in revenue, Seacret achieves just $57,566 per employee—a stark contrast to typical tech margins."
The Traffic Paradox
Seacret's 39,824 monthly visits are dominated by branded search (2,010 monthly for 'seacret'), yet they rank for vanity keywords like 'aesop' (390K volume). This suggests a brand fighting for relevance in a crowded beauty space, where direct traffic (29%) indicates a loyal but limited repeat customer base.
The Mineral Gold Rush
Their keyword strategy reveals desperation: ranking for 'sulwhasoo body lotion' and 'what is the difference between dead sea salt and epsom salt' shows they're capturing broad beauty queries. Yet 'seacret soap' (470 monthly) remains their only product-specific win—suggesting a product line that hasn't evolved beyond its core offering.
The tech stack is surprisingly modern for a legacy brand: Tailwind CSS, Slick, and Cloudflare suggest they've invested in frontend performance. But the 1.9/5 Trustpilot rating across 46 reviews tells a different story—likely shipping issues, customer service gaps, or product mismatch. With 57% organic traffic, they're clearly visible, but conversion is the bottleneck.
- 608 employees for $35M revenue = low efficiency ratio
- 1.9/5 Trustpilot rating indicates serious customer satisfaction issues
- Top keywords are brand-driven, not product-driven (lack of category authority)
- Tech stack modern but no structured data or clear conversion funnel
Seacret is a $35M time capsule
It proves that in DTC beauty, brand legacy and mineral sourcing can sustain a business—but without fixing trust issues and modernizing SEO, they'll remain a niche player in a $500B industry.

SCAM ALERT: Avoid SEACRET on Vaci Street!
My 17-year old sisters creditcard were secretly charged multiple times for a single purchase at Seacret. I have several times approached the staff at the Seacret shop, who refuses to cancel the false creditcard transaction or issue a refund. They insist, that a mistake must have been made by my sisters bank. According to my sisters bank Nordea, the transactions looks fraudulent. Seacret have tried to charge the same amount not only two but three times. They have tried to charge 60.000 HUF or 192 EUR total, which is a lot of money for a 17-year old. The third attempt was rejected, but my sister was still charged twice for the same products. Before shopping here make sure to read the many negative reviews on Google Maps, TrustPilot or ConsumerAffairs. From my sisters experience and other online reviews, it is clear that Seacret uses lies and manipulative selling strategies to trick people into buying their products. The salesperson told my sister, that because the boss was not around, she could offer her a very special price. According to the salesperson this was a special offer, which she could only give to one customer per month. My sister was given the impression, that she would save a lot of money - about 50% compared to the standard price. She ended up paying 20.000 HUF, which turns out is exactly the standard price (found on the Seacret website). My sister was also falsely informed, that she could bring the products (which are liquid and more than 100 ml) through the carry-on security in Budapest airport. According to other online reviews, Seacrest have received many other complains about false carry-on advices, but continue to give out wrong information. It seems like these people will say anything to secure a sale. We are now reporting Seacret in Budapest to the local tourist police for creditcard fraud and unethical marketing techniques. Stay away from Seacret and double check your creditcard bills!
Cheated by seller in Budapest.
Nice and friendly seller in Budapest's pedestrian zone demonstrated products for us. We bought two "Nail Care" sets and returned two days later to buy 3 sets more for our daughters. The seller offered us 1 extra set for free, but when we checked the credit Card receipt, four sets were deducted. They refused to return the money for the last set, even if we returned it. Really bad service. Do you really hate people cheating and being cheated. Watch out for these people.
