The Hyperlocal Paradox: ShopperLocal
A $29M marketing firm thriving on 166 monthly visitors? Let's unpack the math.
In an era obsessed with global reach, ShopperLocal proves that proximity is power. With 117 employees and $29.3M in revenue, they are building a hyperlocal empire, yet their digital footprint is surprisingly minimal. This isn't a bug; it's a feature of their high-touch sales model.
"ShopperLocal isn't selling clicks; they're selling community dominance. Their low web traffic is the strongest signal of their high-touch B2B sales strategy."
The Revenue-to-Traffic Mismatch
Most SaaS companies at $29M ARR command millions in traffic. ShopperLocal operates on a mere 166 monthly visits. This discrepancy reveals a classic outbound-heavy model. They aren't waiting for leads to find 'local shopper' keywords; their VP of Enterprise Sales, Rick Lorch, is likely closing deals via phone and email. The website serves as a digital business card, not a lead generation engine.
The Human Stack
With 117 employees generating $29.3M, the revenue-per-employee ratio is approximately $250k—a healthy figure for a marketing services firm. The leadership team, including Seth Francis (Independent Business Owner) and regional managers, suggests a distributed or franchise-like structure. They aren't just selling software; they're selling localized human relationships, which explains the lack of scalable organic growth.
The tech stack tells a story of functional utility rather than cutting-edge innovation. jQuery, Bootstrap, and Swiper suggest a legacy frontend architecture, prioritizing stability over flashiness. They aren't wasting engineering cycles on a flashy UI because their conversion happens offline. However, the 2.5/5 Trustpilot rating from 5 reviews is a vulnerability that a digital-first competitor could exploit.
- The 'Local Shopper' keyword drives 400 monthly searches, indicating latent brand awareness.
- Their address appears as a top keyword (140 volume), suggesting users are verifying their physical legitimacy.
- Social profiles (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook) are active but serve as trust signals rather than traffic drivers.
The Offline Moat
ShopperLocal dominates local markets by ignoring the digital noise. Their low SEO footprint is the wall protecting their high-touch sales model from commoditization.

this COMPANY IS A COMPLETE SCAM THEY WILL TAKE YOU MONIES THEN PRETEND TO HAVE relationships with the stores they work with they are an India based company. Stay away.
I cannot recommend RTN or Shopper Local
I was told that I can expect to receive about 5-10 customers per day from their sales representative at our store Eden Life Market from their register tape advertisement. Up to this point, we have gotten zero sales, not one person came into our business, from the Advertisements. I tried calling the regional manager, to discuss the cancellation of the Register Tape Advertisements February 26th, March 6th, March 13th, and March 19th. I kept going to voicemail so I decided to write her an email on March 12th, 2019, to cancel the service. She told me that she would have called me the next day. She did not call the next day, so I sent another email. I did not receive a response to that email neither received a call from her until TODAY, one month later. I also called Customer service March 19th and Spoke to a customer service representative about canceling the service after getting their customer service number from a bad review on Facebook. I explained to her what happened and that I wanted to cancel the Advertisement, and she told me, which was a surprise to me, that I signed a ONE year contract that CANNOT be canceled. I was never informed by the Sales Representative about signing a "non-cancelable contract", and that we were set up for auto renewal for that contract every year. That is misrepresentation and fraud. I was rushed to sign the contract at our store. So I was told by the customer service rep to write an email to cancel my service. Finally, after a week, I spoke to the manager of Register Tape Network, a Subsidiary of Shopper Local, today. He informed me that I signed up for four cycles, one cycle has passed, and the second cycle had already been printed and that he is only able to cancel the remaining six cycles. I have been trying to call for one month, and the regional manager never answered my calls, nor responded to my latest emails. And the reason why I have been trying to call her was to cancel the order before the next cycle was printed. I believe that she purposely didn't answer my calls so that I would have to be stuck with paying money for another three months of something that is not working for us. I felt cheated. I cannot recommend this company. From the moment they weren't answering my calls, I knew something was up. I will be seeking legal advice about this matter.
Terrible investment, don't get locked in for a year!
Just starting out my small business and like the reviews here I got smooth talked into a year contract by a fast talking salesman. With the promise of various numbers and market share dribble, I agreed to a year of advertising with the word from the salesman that if it didn't work out they wouldn't hold me to the contract. Well after a term (3mos), without a single lead from their service, I decided the money would be better spent somewhere else. Upon calling the company, I found out that they had no intentions of releasing me from my one year contract (verbal, but recorded). Don't make the same mistake, if the salesman says to try it out for a few months, he means a YEAR! Come to find out, every renewal term (quarterly) the stores require the employees to use up the old roll of receipt paper before using the new rolls for the quarter. this means that coupons that are printed on the receipt are outdated and still being used. I went and bought one a week into the new month after being informed of this by a customer (existing, still not one new lead) and verified that my coupons expired the end of the prior month. When I asked the manager of the store about it, she said that corporate told them they have to use up the old spools first. Neither the stores nor the company care a thing about your company or the growth of your company, merely the money they get from your company "in my opinion."

Zero customer service
I am a new business and was talked into and "sold" on a contract. I 100% understand I made a HUGE mistake and signed a contract but then I tried to contact the company and pause or cancel or reduce my plan and they told me "I would hope you know how business works". Rude is not even the appropriate word for how I was talked to. I was trying to come up with a resolution that worked for everyone but my honesty and candor was not respected. Do not sign a contract with them. Do not trust them. They do not care what you have to say. The only reason I gave them one star is because zero was not an option.

Can't Belive, I gave you a star :(
Shopperlocal doesn't even worth reviewing. Worst advertisement company I ever worked with. Do not trust this company. Their sales rep from India called me (YES, YOU READ IT RIGHT, INDIA!!. SHOPPER LOCAL IS AN INDIAN COMPANY), pitched me a contact which I signed, Later I realized that whatever she told me is a complete lie. She is no longer with the company or she doesn't answer my calls. I have explained to everyone that will listen what was said but they do not care. The standards response I always get is "you have signed a contract". YES, I did sign a contract (my biggest mistake) based on what your sales rep told me. BEWARE OF SHOPPERLOCAL! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!
