Superpedestrian: The Invisible Giant
A $261M-funded mobility player with a mysterious identity crisis
Superpedestrian is a mobility company with a $261M war chest and a profound identity problem, currently masquerading as a real estate blog about suburban housing trends. This is the story of a company that raised enough money to build a city but can't build a website that makes sense.
"A company that built a $261M mobility empire somehow ended up with a website about suburban housing prices - the most spectacular digital identity crisis in tech."
The Identity Crisis
Superpedestrian's homepage claims to be about 'The Suburban Renaissance' with housing market analysis, while their actual business is building electric vehicle platforms for micromobility. This isn't a pivot—it's a complete digital schizophrenia. With 260 employees and $81M in revenue, they've somehow created a website that ranks for 'linkl' and 'linkj' instead of 'e-scooter technology' or 'micromobility infrastructure'.
The Traffic Paradox
Despite $261M in funding, Superpedestrian's website attracts a mere 10,257 monthly visits—less than a mid-tier Substack. Even more damning: 30% of their traffic comes from organic search for terms like 'super pedestrian' (340 volume) and 'superpedestrian' (300 volume), while their top keyword is 'linkl' with 80,070 monthly searches. This suggests either a catastrophic SEO strategy or a domain that's been hijacked by spam.
The Trustpilot score tells its own story: 1.7/5 from 43 reviews. For a company with this much capital and 260 employees, that's not just a bad rating—it's a red flag that signals operational or product-market fit issues. The contrast between their financial backing and their digital presence is one of the most jarring disconnects we've seen in the mobility sector.
- $261.7M in funding yet 10K monthly website visits—capital efficiency in reverse
- Website content is completely disconnected from actual business operations
- Top keywords are nonsensical ('linkl', 'linkj') suggesting technical SEO failure
- Trustpilot 1.7/5 rating indicates serious customer satisfaction problems
- 260 employees but minimal digital footprint in their actual industry
The $261M Question
Superpedestrian proves that massive funding doesn't guarantee digital coherence or market clarity. For investors and founders, this is a masterclass in how not to build a brand—and a warning that capital without clarity is just expensive confusion.

Amazing scooters
Amazing scooters. Very durable. Olympic depth swimming pools all around me after a local storm but these babies manoeuvred through the puddles with great ease despite my friend falling head first into said puddles on lesser know inferior so called competitive scooters. A++
the web and the app is a hoax, it's foolish
The company only wants to scam low and mid-range people to take advantage of their electric skateboards and then comes the pornography and then the money robbing is cleaned
Scooters slow down on rides…
Scooters seem to slow down on rides where you buy passes so it will use up your time and charge extra. If you end your ride at 5 seconds before the pass expires, you get charged an extra minute because they end the ride after you take a picture of the scooter. There is no way to pause the ride so if you pay for 1/2 hour and you use it for 15 minutes, when you park it to go into a merchant, the clock is still ticking and you'd better hope nobody takes off with your active scooter or you can end the ride and lose the rest of the time you paid for. PURE SKULLDUGGERY. Companies should make money while having fair practices.
The Superpedestrian company is not trustworthy. I Bought the Copenhagen wheel. A great idea because it is a wheel that you put on your bike and it is already electric. It worked very well. They stopped manufacturing the wheel, because the cost was not worth it and they started manufacturing scooters, apparently more profitable. The wheel is controlled from an application on the phone. When they stopped manufacturing it, they stopped updating the application, so when updating the phone's software or, as in my case, when changing to a new phone, I cannot use the application and therefore I cannot activate the wheel. Contacted the company they did not give a response or solution. It is unacceptable that they have stopped providing assistance when removing the product. The wheel is now a useless object. The same can happen with any product you buy from this company. Sugerencias
Beat up scooters costing more than car
Used the service of a battered scooter in Torrevieja (Spain) and didn't realized that they charge enormous money per minute. Paid nearly 11€ for half an hour ride - 0.30€ per minute. My car share service in London charges less per minute for a car, actual car... avoid such a costly service at all.
