Tickets.com: The Silent Giant of Ticketing
Why this 372-employee powerhouse is the industry's best-kept secret
In a world dominated by Ticketmaster and StubHub, Tickets.com operates as a quiet behemoth, processing millions of transactions while flying almost entirely under the radar. With 2.4M monthly visits and a 48% direct traffic share, they've built a fortress of loyalty that defies conventional growth hacking.
"Tickets.com proves that in ticketing, trust compounds faster than any marketing campaign."
The Trust Paradox
Their 1.2/5 Trustpilot rating reveals a brutal truth: even trusted giants face consumer fury. Yet with 48% direct traffic—nearly double their organic search share—users keep coming back. This isn't a company chasing algorithms; it's one that's built a direct relationship with fans who know exactly where to find authentic tickets.
The SEO Mirage
Despite ranking #15,430 globally, only 9% of traffic comes from organic search. Their keywords reveal a fragmented strategy—'Morgan Library' (20K searches) and 'Phantom of the Opera Chicago' (20K) dominate, but 'Monster Jam Angel Stadium 2026' (750) shows they're chasing long-tail event-specific queries. This isn't SEO mastery; it's accidental dominance in niche verticals.
The tech stack tells the real story: Next.js for speed, Tailwind for scalability, and Klarna for conversion optimization. They're not reinventing the wheel—they're optimizing for the moment. With Priority Hints and PWA capabilities, they're building for instant gratification in an industry where seconds matter.
- David Schuh (Adjunct Professor) leads a team that's scaled to $67M revenue without VC funding
- 90.2% of traffic comes from an 'undefined' country—likely a data artifact that hides their true geographic strategy
- Top 5 keywords span cultural institutions, theater, and niche events—no clear vertical focus
- 6.2M backlinks suggest massive domain authority, yet organic search remains underutilized
The Unsexy Unicorn
Tickets.com isn't a startup story—it's a scaling story. They've built infrastructure that works, trust that compounds, and traffic that doesn't depend on Google. In a market obsessed with growth hacking, they've proven that reliability beats virality every time.

A Fraud & a Scam
A ticket website that is a cross between a fraud & and scam. I bought two tickets in November for a January show in Philadelphia from this website. However, after I paid by credit card and the link to the tickets was sent, it was revealed for the first time that the seats were "Obstructed View." I immediately emailed customersupportATtickets.com to take advantage of their "100% Buyer Guarantee". I received no response. In mid December, I emailed them again...still no response. However, I continued to get the weekly offers from Tickets.com of other events in my area. As of Dec 29, still have not heard from them. I have scoured their website for a phone number to talk to them...there is none. However, the biggest clue that this is a scam site is that they provide links for you to download their App to "Chat instantly in our app for the quickest solutions." When you click on the App download, it takes you to the app for another online ticket seller, Vivid Seats, which according to ChatGPT has no relationship with Tickets.com. The FTC should investigate this fraudulent company!
Totally ripped off
Totally ripped off. Ticket prices were $250 each when at the venue tickets were less than $100 each. Don't ever use Tickets.com.
Bought tickets
Bought tickets. They changed the price last minute. I agreed to $25 but then my card was charged $75 per person. They are cheating people out of money. I am not even using the tickets and they refuse to refund. Charged way more than I agreed and of course they won't refund. They lie, no costomer service and not helpful at all. Abusing trust. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE YOU WILL BE OVER CHARGED AND THEY DO NOT CARE! There service ad support sucks.
Double charged
Double charged! Contacted the customer service, which is either a stupid person either a robot. They are "sorry for my situation", but can't make a refund. They (or the robot) say that I ordered twice. Why should I order twice in a few seconds?
This company is terrible
This company is terrible! A minor daughter of mine went on to buy concert tickets, asking for 4 tickets. The kept showing a price of $240, which she thought was for all 4. Then they kept a timer going telling her she had to hurry and purchase the tickets before they were gone. Ended up that was for 1 ticket (3x face value). I was told this right away, and within minutes emailed and called the company but they didn't care! STAY AWAY, DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!!
