Cesarine: The Authentic Italian Kitchen
How a home-cooking platform conquered the world's most coveted culinary market
In an era of mass tourism and cookie-cutter experiences, Cesarine is building a $9M empire by letting strangers cook in their neighbors' homes. This isn't a food tour—it's a cultural hack that's disrupting the entire Italian hospitality industry.
"They're not selling cooking classes—they're selling the Italian grandmother's kitchen you never had."
The Trust Economy
Cesarine operates in a market where trust is the ultimate currency. With 1,531 Trustpilot reviews at 4.8/5 stars, they've cracked the code on strangers entering private homes. The platform's 65% organic search traffic reveals something powerful: people aren't just browsing—they're actively seeking authentic experiences. The top keywords aren't even branded; they're recipe searches like 'carbonara ricetta' (2,980 monthly searches), positioning Cesarine as the authority before booking even happens.
The SEO Trojan Horse
Here's what's genius: Cesarine dominates recipe searches, not just 'cooking classes' queries. They rank for 'ricetta panettone' (3,260 searches) and 'insalata russa ricetta' (2,670 searches)—terms that attract home cooks, not travelers. This creates a massive funnel. When someone searches for a traditional recipe, they discover Cesarine as the authentic source, then convert into booking a class. It's content marketing that doesn't feel like marketing.
The tech stack tells a story of modern agility: Tailwind CSS, Vite, PWA, and Priority Hints. This isn't a legacy platform—it's built for speed and mobile-first experiences. The PWA implementation suggests they're optimizing for travelers who book on-the-go, likely in airport lounges or hotel rooms. The presence of Radix UI and Ant Design indicates a sophisticated component library, essential for managing complex booking flows across multiple Italian regions.
- Geographic arbitrage: Florence, Venice, Amalfi Coast—each market is a distinct cultural ecosystem requiring local trust
- The 'Veganuary' headline reveals they're chasing trends, not just tradition
- Gnocchi classes suggest they're doubling down on hands-on pasta-making, the most Instagrammable cooking activity
- Tasting Florence indicates they're expanding beyond cooking into pure food experiences
The Platform Play
Cesarine isn't a tour company—it's a trust infrastructure for the sharing economy, applied to the world's most valuable culinary heritage.

My daughter and a friend were traveling…
My daughter and a friend were traveling to Bari for the New Year and I decided to treat them to a cooking class. I hesitate to organize any travel activities for them as it isn't always appreciated but their experience from the pizza-making class was exceptional. Her friend messaged me thanks and said "it was an experience we'll never forget." My daughter wrote "we love our Nonna!" and what a "wonderful experience" it was. Home Run for Mom!! and thanks to Cesarine and Nonna Valentina. Grazi!
Excellent
Excellent! Great / easy to book through. Stayed in contact and responded as soon as a question arose. Made adjustments as we needed and made the process of this wonderful experience easy! I would definitely use Cesarine again.

The host (our chef) was what made this experience so unique and memorable. Great instructor, warm, engaging, and welcoming to his home. The location, an Italian home, rather than a restaurant, for example, also made the experience very unique.
Great hospitality
Great hospitality, great people great local experience!! Very grateful!
Friendly Host with Delicious Food
We had an incredible experience with this cooking class. Prior to the date, she messaged us asking if we had any requests, and she seemed pretty willing to accommodate any restrictions or preferences. On the day of the cooking class, we were free to engage hands-on in the cooking as much as we preferred. Alternatively, she had snacks and drinks out that we could indulge in while she did the cooking if that is what we preferred. She was also able to answer any questions we had and proactively gave a ton of information. While the main dish was in the oven, she then brought out a beautiful and unique charcuterie board with a choice of wine, and we were able to dine in private. She then brought out the main dish once it was ready, timed very nicely with us finishing the charcuterie, and we were able to enjoy that. While we were enjoying the main dish, she prepared a delicious dessert and offered numerous dessert liqueurs. The only caveat worth mentioning is that the site advertised the host as being in the center of Aosta, which is untrue. The class is at her house just outside of town, and there is no public transportation available to get there and it is a very long walk. If you do not have a car, plan on taking a 15-minute cab, and just be sure to budget some time for pickup and dropoff given there are very few cabs in Aosta. Overall, I would highly recommend this experience.
