PointClickCare: The Silent Giant of Senior Care

Why 2.4M monthly users rely on this $480M revenue healthcare platform

While Silicon Valley chases the next AI unicorn, PointClickCare quietly powers 80% of North America's senior care facilities. This isn't a startup—it's a $480M revenue machine that solved a problem no one else wanted to touch.

"They own the senior care workflow so completely that 'PCC login' generates 57K monthly searches—users don't search for software, they search for PointClickCare."

The Network Effect You Can't Replicate

PointClickCare's 69% direct traffic reveals their true moat: they've become the operating system for senior care. When 95.6% of traffic comes from undefined (likely US domestic) and users type 'pcc' (195K monthly searches) instead of the full name, you know you've achieved product-market fit. This isn't SaaS—it's infrastructure.

The Revenue Flywheel

With $480M in revenue and only $230M in funding, PointClickCare has achieved profitability while scaling to 2,400 employees. Their 96K backlinks and 25% organic search traffic show they've built a content moat around senior care operations. Every facility they onboard creates data that makes their AI smarter, which attracts more facilities—a classic network effect that's nearly impossible to displace.

The Trustpilot rating of 2.9/5 from just 2 reviews is telling. In healthcare software, customers don't complain on consumer platforms—they complain to their account managers. The low review count suggests either strong retention or an enterprise sales motion that doesn't rely on public validation. Either way, it's working.

  • Dominates senior care workflow with 80% market penetration in North America
  • Achieved $480M revenue with only $230M in funding—capital efficient to the extreme
  • 69% direct traffic proves they've become the default choice, not just an option
  • AI-powered coordination creates data moats that competitors can't replicate
No public pricing or transparent sales process
Built an unassailable network effect in senior care
Trustpilot presence is minimal (2 reviews)
Profitable with 2.4K employees and growing
Tech stack appears dated (jQuery, Bootstrap)
Direct traffic dominance shows true product-market fit

This is what product-market fit looks like at scale

PointClickCare isn't chasing trends—they built the foundation that senior care runs on. In a world of VC-burned startups, they're a $480M revenue machine that solved a real problem and owns the market.

Negative hiring practices

As a potential employee who closely matches the job descriptions of roles I’ve applied to, it’s incredibly disheartening to never receive an opportunity to interview, despite my qualifications and alignment with the listed requirements. I’ve applied to multiple roles where my skills, experience, and background were a direct match, yet I was overlooked each time without any feedback or acknowledgment. It leaves me questioning whether the hiring process is genuinely aimed at finding the best candidates or if it’s merely a checkbox exercise. What’s even more frustrating is the lack of transparency in the process. It’s difficult to improve or adapt when there’s no communication about why my application wasn’t considered or what I could do differently. This experience has made me feel undervalued as a potential contributor to the company, especially when I’ve put in the effort to tailor my applications to match the specific needs of the roles. I understand that companies receive a high volume of applications, but it’s disappointing to see roles I’m qualified for reposted or remain unfilled for months while I, as a strong candidate, am never given a chance. This suggests either inefficiencies in the hiring process or a lack of genuine interest in giving capable candidates an opportunity. Overall, this experience has been disheartening and has made me question the fairness and effectiveness of the hiring process. As someone eager to contribute and grow within the company, I expected more consideration for the effort I’ve put into applying for roles I’m fully qualified to perform.

Thoughtfully Yours

Lost Trust

Pros: They do seem to care about your well-being as an employee. Lots of opportunities to grow. Very flexible about work life balance. Pay is better than average Some managers are very proactive about staff input and team cohesion/productivity. They do listen and discuss input from members of the team often and are not afraid/reluctant to improve for the most part in the department I was in. CONS: They pay former employees to sign a (Hush-money) contract that forbids them from saying anything in any public forum that in any way provides anything that might be perceived as negative (even if it is true). They often hold money that you are already due hostage until you've signed it. When one negative Glassdoor review hit last year, the c-levels went absolutely nuts. Some managers act like little dictators and completely ignore the stated core values of the company, but they are firmly embedded in upper-management's trust, so they get away with murder. They regularly send company-wide declarations on politics of the day that alienate nearly half of their employees, but they think they're being proactive and genuine. I don't think they intend to be completely insensitive and hostile, but the end result is that nobody ever poses alternate solutions to any of their wokeness projects because they're just afraid they'll be fired for not being woke enough and they simply shut up and put their head down. Being white and Christian/Jewish/conservative of any flavor appears to be an oppressed and actively maligned class of employee in this company. Regular company-wide presentations host guest-speakers who sometimes go on racist rants and declare that all workers must actively celebrate alternative lifestyles even if it's is against your religion or personal beliefs. It's not enough for them that everyone treat everyone else with decency, respect and consideration, they want everyone to fully disavow their own values in exchange for their brand of uber-wokism. There's a lot of little kingdoms to deal with, and not a lot of coordination happening between them. Some units try harder at this than others (SaaS Ops). one of their customer service managers is an absolute nightmare and I can count at least 30 employees leaving the company or her part of the company to get away from her lies, constant gaslighting and manipulation. Unfortunately, if you show integrity and speak up to this person and let them know, you get shut down and threatened with discipline, so there are definitely favorite "children" in the management that are above the rules they set out for everyone else. Getting things done involves a ton of meetings and just as many delays and this makes folks who are personally invested in the quality of their work frustrated and feeling unheard and unable to produce the quality of work they want to. This often makes otherwise simple projects very lengthy and tiresome as project pieces are endlessly handed off from place-to-place without action being taken. Management tries really hard to please every possible faction, but end up alienating half of them anyway. "Courageous conversations" are only courageous if you agree with the defined tilt of the topic. Paying people, or holding pay over their heads in order to force people to not ever give an accurate assessment about the company demonstrates an aggressive attack on integrity and values and puts image over everything. I'm not saying they are not generous when they do this; I just think the whole process is dishonest and shows that image is far more important than any other consideration. There are a lot of religious organizations in the hospice, critical care and medical communities/industries in general. How do you think they are going to respond when they discover the rotten core at work here? The radical wokeness taking over this company will eventually be its downfall. They've taken sides in a very volatile area within which a good portion of medical establishments are the very ones they continue to insult. Religiously affiliated/derived care providers will only take so much before they turn their backs on you for making declarations beyond the pale... Quit preaching wokeness to your employees. Declaring your indignation and rage to the entire company about an abortion ruling does nothing other than signal to your employees that nearly half of them are worthless to you and put the lie to all of this "be your authentic self" that you throw around everywhere. It is enough to promote tolerance, honesty, decency and focus on the teamwork, unit comradery and cohesion and company goals instead of trying to manipulate/shame/change who people are simply because their belief systems conflict with the woke flavor of the day.
