Simucube: The Apple of Sim Racing?
A $20M niche powerhouse redefining premium sim racing hardware with active pedals and direct drive wheels.
In a world of budget sim racing gear, Simucube isn't playing the volume game—they're building a luxury ecosystem for the 1%. With 57 employees and $20.5M in revenue, they've turned high-end sim racing into a high-margin business, proving that in niche markets, depth beats width every time.
"They aren't selling hardware—they're selling the feeling of a Formula 1 car in your living room. That's the difference between a peripheral and a platform."
The Precision-First Audience
Simucube's traffic data reveals a focused, intent-driven user base. With 53% organic search and 34% direct traffic, their audience isn't browsing—they're hunting for specific high-end gear like 'Simucube 2 Pro' (3,470 monthly searches). This isn't impulse buying; it's considered investment. The brand has achieved the holy grail: customers who know exactly what they want and come directly to the source.
The Active Pedal Bet
While competitors fight over wheelbase specs, Simucube is doubling down on ActivePedals—a category they're essentially creating. This isn't iteration; it's category creation. By moving beyond force feedback to active force generation, they're solving a problem sim racers didn't know they had. It's the Tesla approach: don't just make a better steering wheel, reinvent the entire input paradigm.
The brand's social presence is telling—active on TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter, but with a minimalist aesthetic that screams 'engineer-first' rather than 'influencer-first.' Their 2.8/5 Trustpilot rating with only 3 reviews suggests either a low review volume or a customer base that's too niche to bother with public feedback. Either way, their moat isn't built on social proof—it's built on technical superiority.
- ActivePedal technology creates a new hardware category beyond traditional force feedback
- Direct-to-consumer model captures full margin on $1,000+ products
- 57 employees generating $360K+ revenue per head—exceptional efficiency
- 53% organic traffic shows strong brand authority in a niche market
The Premium Playbook is Working
Simucube proves that in hardware, owning the high-end is more profitable than chasing the mass market. Their $20M revenue on 57 employees suggests a sustainable, high-margin business that's scaling deliberately—not rapidly. For founders: sometimes the best growth strategy is to ignore 95% of the market.

Disappointing and misleading “in stock” delivery promise
I’m writing this review because I’m really disappointed with how Simucube handled my order. On November 29, the product page clearly stated “in stock” and “delivery in 5–7 days.” Based on that information, I placed my order. However, after ordering, I was informed that my package would not arrive before January, which is obviously nowhere near what was advertised. When I contacted support, I was told this was due to an IT/display bug and that the stock status shown on the website was incorrect. I understand that mistakes can happen, but what makes this unacceptable is that, after talking with people I know, I learned that the same situation has happened in previous years. That means this isn’t a one-time issue — it feels like a repeated pattern. Respectfully, advertising an item as “in stock” with a 5–7 day delivery estimate, then pushing the delivery back by weeks after payment, is misleading and not honest. At the very least, the website should reflect real stock and realistic delivery times before customers place an order. I hope Simucube takes this seriously and fixes the issue permanently, because this experience has seriously damaged my trust.
