British company bought and trashed Smarthinking.com, a formerly indispensable higher education aid for students and faculty.

There are many problems with this company since it was purchased by the British company Pearson. Used to be great for students, colleges, and the highly educated and dedicated tutors, a quality virtual experience. Pearson has not given a pay raise to tutors since 2011. They don't care about them and treat Ph.Ds as disposable property, like slaves. They tried to replace American tutors with cheaper Indian academics and treat all professionals like they are easily replaceable and need constant helicopter monitoring. This degrading company policy shows up in the actual interactions with students, which are often non-productive in reality. Tutors are forced to prioritize massive Pearson guidelines above student needs making tutorials, especially the audio and audio/video ones, absolutely worthless for students. Pearson degrades the college experience for college students just as it completely disconnected the primary education dynamic from student needs with its illogical testing programs for No Child Left Behind, a massive failure. Pearson is a British company monopolizing and degrading the American educational systems at all levels, including GRE testing to get into grad school. The Pearson CEO does not have a higher education degree and it shows.
