Bonus for their haul away services
I've know about Takl for over a year and they are a great service for one-off house cleaning, lawn care as well as small handyman jobs like hanging light fixtures. Bonus for their haul away services. No one likes to go to the dump.
I had an absolutely horrible…
I had an absolutely horrible experience. From the moment I signed up, there were issues. The first provider cancelled on me within three minutes of me choosing him. The second individual I chose messaged me the day of the service and said she’d see me the next day. I replied immediately and I never heard from her. The third and final person I chose showed up 20 minutes late and brought his girlfriend, who brought her son who was approximately 4. He brought his girlfriend to help. They were here to do a four hour paint job. They stayed two hours. I hired one person for four hours. Not a person to show up with a helper, than ask if he could bill me an additional 47.00 for her, plus tips, than stay half the time. I was to pay 190.97 for him for four hours. I felt obliged to tip him because he stood there at the end until I accepted the payment. This was after I had to pay his girlfriend 47.00 plus yet another service fee. I tipped her 10.00, but did not have a problem with her work overall, though I had to go back over it. His work was horrible. He should not be painting for a living. I had areas that needed to be leveled out. That is why I hired someone. He spackled one very small area, which he did not level out. Most of the areas he did not touch. He did not remove the outlet plates. I had to go back behind him and touch up most of his work as well. He screwed up the billing because he added work, which screwed up the initial bill, so I spent a majority of the time he was here, online with Customer Service. I will never use Takl again. My mom, co worker and sister planned to use Takl based upon my referral. I told them all about my horrible experience and not to use the service. To top everything off, I am now getting two estimates from providers with Home Advisors to correct the crappy work the guy did. This means I’ll be spending even more money. I feel as if I deserve a partial refund since he stayed here half the time, was on the phone part of the time on a personal call, and did shotty work. Takl will never get my business.
DECEITFUL RATING SYSTEM-DONT USE!
I’ve used this app for a very long time. I would say my success rate is about 80%. But when they’re bad, they’re really bad, and the company takes their side every time. This last time I had 11 windows to be cleaned in a one story house. The girl was there 3.5 hours, complaining, and did a poor job. She also left all the windows unlocked, and screens up, down or in the middle. Her way to clean the outside was to lean out from inside. Then a boy friend with a black eye shows up and they start fighting. I finally told her to leave, I had other things to do. When I explained to Takl, they wanted more pictures for a $25 credit on a $100 job. Then they paid her and did not allow me to provide a rating. Just so you know, any provider with 5 stars, and no numbers next to that, could have started that day. Yeah, they start them all at 5 stars without knowing a thing. Also, if you have a no show, you are not allowed to leave a rating or review. Lots of much better apps out there. Don’t use this.
Terrible Job
Terrible Job. I hired someone to take leaves and he missed half of them, blew some out on the road, and didn't get along the house. For the amount I paid, I didn't expect that I'd have to go out and finish the job myself.
I hired a handy man from Takl
I hired a handy man from Takl, he came and replaced a Fluid Master Valve. I had already removed the old one and needed someone strong to put the new one and screw the bolts well. He left and the toilet was leaking from two sides. I sent requests to get help, nobody answered my request. I complained on Facebook and they said that I needed to send a message to customer care, which i had already done and did it again. NEVER anyone answered back to me. I am so mad that I will file suit against this company if I don't get now. THIS WAS IN SEPTEMBER, I AM STILL WAITING.
