I have been finding that applying for jobs in the current job market is exhausting and demeaning. I've never known it to be worse. I've been a college lecturer for quite some time, so I haven't been actively seeking, and when I decided to look for a new role, I found the experience to be absolutely horrendous. I found that recruiters were chasing you around one minute and ghosting you the next, and the application process was normally multipart, making you break up your CV and cut and paste, wasting time.
