Superloop: The Dark Horse of Aussie Broadband
How a $206M revenue network operator is quietly eating the market from the inside out
While everyone fights over customer acquisition, Superloop is building something far more defensible: a vertically integrated connectivity empire that owns the infrastructure, the customer relationship, and the future of 5G failover. They're not just selling internet; they're selling reliability at scale.
"Superloop isn't playing the discount game—they're playing the infrastructure game, and that's a much harder game to lose."
The Infrastructure Moat
With 500 employees and $36.4M in funding, Superloop has achieved what most telcos dream of: 46% direct traffic. That's not marketing efficiency—that's brand stickiness. When customers type 'superloop.com' directly, they're not shopping; they're staying. The 77,630 monthly searches for just 'superloop' prove they've become a verb in Australian connectivity.
Customer Retention Over Acquisition
1,515 Trustpilot reviews averaging 4/5 isn't exceptional—it's table stakes. What matters is the 1,970 monthly searches for 'superloop login'. That's a 2.6% login-to-visit ratio, suggesting an active, engaged user base that doesn't just sign up—they actually use the service. Compare that to their 'superloop nbn' search volume of 7,390, and you see the pattern: existing customers searching for access, not new customers searching for deals.
The real story is in their tech stack. Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Hotjar, Trustpilot integration, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel—this isn't a company experimenting with digital presence. This is a company that has industrialized its conversion funnel. Every pixel tracks, every session is recorded, every user journey is optimized. They're running a data-driven telco in an industry still dominated by legacy thinking.
- 46% organic + 46% direct = 92% non-paid traffic (marketing efficiency at scale)
- Superloop dominates its own brand search (77K/month) while 'super loop' misspellings get 2.5K—brand awareness is fracturing
- NBN plans are their anchor (7,390 searches), but 5G mobile is their wedge into new revenue streams
The Quiet Monopoly Play
Superloop is building an infrastructure-first telco that wins on reliability, not price. For investors, that's a far more defensible position than customer acquisition costs.

Great Customer Service
The agent went above and beyond to ensure I was able to be retained, as I was calling to leave Superloop. They offered multiple rates, and requested additional delegation to do so, whilst remaining polite and professional with myself. I'm sorry that Superloop were unable to proce match competitors, as I'm unsure after I leave I will recover such excellent customer service.
Superloop over Exetel
I switched from Exetel to Superloop 6 months ago. In switching I went up a tier (by choice). At first I was cut from the Exetel service before Superloop was enabled. Only a matter of an hour or so, so more an inconvenience (albeit a signficant one given I WFH). But when trying to connect the app to my account I stumbled across a problem. It turns out Superloop and Exetel are related. Because I was using the same email address to connect to Superloop as I had with Exetel, the app kept logging me into my old Exetel account (which was now closed). I had to explain this to the service agent. To their credit, despite not having initial answers, they helped me troubleshoot and by changing the user account name to allow my email address to be used. Since then, I've had no issues and a great service. Advertised speeds are typically bang on. Even during peak periods.

I am shocked by all the good reviews to…
I am shocked by all the good reviews to be honest. I cancelled with my previous provider as I thought superloop was a better deal. Which it was. However, at least I had internet with the other provider! It has been two weeks of constant phone calls and live chats, each time with a different person, only to discover every single time that the previous call/chat hadn’t been uploaded and nothing had been done. Each time I’ve had to explain from the beginning. At the same time I ordered a data SIM for my mothers house, they kept telling me to use that SIM for internet while I waited….which I would’ve if it had arrived and been activated! I’ve finally managed to get a technician appointment to hopefully get it up and running, despite the fact I was assured I didn’t need a technician and it was a simple matter of simply getting the provider changed and restarting the NBN box. I hope the internet is decent once it finally gets connected. I won’t be using superloop again and I wouldn’t recommend them.
HUGE waste of time and money
Been with Superloop 4 months and had issues every single month. I ordered a modem couple days before my contract started and was told it would arrive in 3–5 days. After two and a half weeks of being told repeatedly it was “on the way,” I finally found out it was actually out of stock and never sent. By then I had already been paying for internet for two weeks and in the end had to go buy my own modem in a general IT store. Three months later, Superloop charged me $170 for that same modem - the one that never arrived. The charge was taken automatically without notice on a Friday night. When I called, I was told I had to wait until Monday because the billing team doesn’t work weekends. By Monday, no ticket had even been logged. It took another 4 days and multiple calls to get my money back. Between setup issues and fixing their billing mistakes, I’ve spent around 7 hours on hold and on the phone. When I asked to stop automatic payments, since my trust in them is gone, I was told they couldn’t do that, so I cancelled my service. Poor communication, billing errors, and a HUGE waste of time.
