Monday.com: The Unsexy $262M Workflow Giant
How a project management tool dominates with 34M monthly visits and 77% direct traffic
While everyone chases AI hype, Monday.com quietly built a $262M revenue engine by solving the most boring problem in business: getting work done. With 34M monthly visits and 77% direct traffic, they've become the operating system for teams that actually ship.
"Monday.com doesn't sell features—they sell clarity. And clarity is worth $262M."
The Viral Growth Engine
With 77% direct traffic (34.7M visits), Monday.com achieved what every SaaS founder dreams of: organic dominance. Their secret? A product that spreads bottom-up through teams, not top-down through IT departments. When 18% of traffic still comes from organic search despite 8.6M backlinks, you know you've built a category leader.
The Competitive Intelligence Play
Monday.com's keyword strategy reveals their true ambition: they're not just competing with project tools—they're hunting their giants. Ranking for 'trello' (1.8M volume), 'clickup' (1.2M), and 'asana' (801K) shows they're playing the long game. They're not just building a tool; they're building the default.
The 2.8/5 Trustpilot rating (3,378 reviews) tells a different story than the revenue numbers. This isn't a product loved by everyone—it's a product used by everyone. The gap between usage and love is where Monday.com's moat lies: switching costs are high once workflows are embedded.
- 77% direct traffic = product-led growth at scale
- Competing with Trello/ClickUp/Asana on their own keywords
- 2.8/5 rating proves they're a 'utility,' not a 'delight'
- 8.6M backlinks = SEO moat built over a decade
The Unsexy Truth
Monday.com proves that boring problems, solved systematically, create billion-dollar outcomes. They're not building for product managers—they're building for everyone else who just needs to get work done.

Best for Teams
I have been using Monday for couple of months now. I started with the free trial and I have been happy with it ever since. The tools are super easy to use and mostly how smoothly me and my team integrate and work together. It is a bit expensive but hey, nothing comes close to Monday when it comes to managing projects. And they always keep on updating the features.
Super expensive.
The tools works well and easy to manage, but the pricing becomes tough to justify. A lot of essential admin control and deeper features are locked behind higher plans. which makes it feel limiting.
Hey Carly, we appreciate the feedback here. We’re always reviewing our pricing/plans to make sure they're aligned with the market and that we’re offering as much value as possible across all plans. If there are specific features you feel you're missing in your current plan, feel free to DM us or share them as a feature request here: https://community.monday.com/c/feature-requests/7. We’re always open to hearing what would make the experience better for you!
keeps on bugging......
poor customer service, and it keeps on bugging. i only have small team yet it can't handle our basic workflow properly...
Hey Thayer, appreciate the feedback here. The platform definitely shouldn’t be consistently bugging, so we’d love to help figure out what’s going on. We couldn’t find any recent contact with our support team, but if you’re open to it, feel free to DM us your account details on social or reach out directly through our Help Center. We’re here and happy to take a closer look!
Honestly, had enough.
Honestly, just so sick and tired of paying for this and that at every turn. If you really want to use the platform in any meaningful way you have to use the pro version. And even then they'll ask you to pay to use AI, to pay for every little marketplace tool, paying for more modules, paying for additional automations. Really? You need to pay more for the exact reason they pull you in to sign up.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone
Wouldn't recommend to anyone. I'm working with someone who uses Monday.com. We're a startup so I was interested in potentially using it for our business (currently everything's in Notion). So far I've made a very basic Kanban board that immediately started glitching out in Chrome and became unusable. Live chat couldn't help, passed me to tech support who are still dealing with it. Then I made a board with a form (to allow users to submit tickets) and wanted to create an automation sending tickets from the form's board to other boards based on criteria (like bugs to a dev board) - all of this would take place within Monday.com (board to board), something I'm currently able to do in Notion easily. This costs automation "credits" and despite my account showing we've only used 111/250 in the month, I am unable to make new automations because I've hit the account limit. Again: live chat to tech support because live chat had no idea. Now tech support are telling me we'e used 1800 runs this month, yet I can't see that anywhere (as an admin) in their usage reporting. I'm wasting precious time not revamping our dev process because I'm waiting for Monday.com to become usable. Live chat is awful because it's an AI bot that you have to try to get past to get to a human. The interface isn't great. The feature set isn't great. Layout options are limited. All in all, I'm unimpressed.
